What's happening with the zebras? I saw a very small report from Reuters that Manu Ferrera had been "relieved of his coaching duties" after he criticized the board in the media.

What did he say about the board? Who will replace him as coach?

Doesn't it speak for itself? That is the normal way in Belgium:if you have a trainer who reached the 5e place whereas last year your club had to play 'till the last day to avoid relegation, than you immediately fire that coach .

Ferreira said in an interview a couple of days ago that he's sick and tired of interferences made by Charleroi-president Bayat. Ferreire said Bayat wanted to decide who played, that he only critized the coach... .

And definitely on that last point Ferreira was right. If Charleroi won his games, you could here Bayat say he had one of the most talented groups in Belgium. If they lost he always mentionned some tacktical errors of the coach.

To make it completely ridilous Bayat made Enzo Scifo player-manager. Now I'm absolutely sure that the function of player-manager is only suited for teams in 4 division, but whatever.

Once again a brilliant decision of a Belgian football-board. I don't understand it and it makes me extremely mad . Charleroi is a team with huge potential. Unfortunately they also have a tradition of retarded boards (but which team hasn't in this country?). If they only had a little patience a consistency. Why is it so hard to understand that? If they can do it in Moeskroen why can't it happen elsewhere?

I think Scifo will have to work late...
I don't known any other player that is also vice-president and head coach.

I think it's especially sad for the Charleroi fans, it must have been years that they made such good performances, and now the coach who realized this gets fired, I don't understand...

Today I read the obituary of Len Shackleton, who played in England in the 1940's and 50's, but died recently.

He wrote a famous autobiography entitled Clown Prince of Soccer, in which he had a chapter called The Average Director's Knowledge of Football. The chapter consisted of a blank page.

I guess R.C.S.C. only serves as further proof. :depress:
