After Hasi took his place in Porto, Alin wanted to show Antheunis something in the match against Beveren and he did. By scoring a goal and some beautifull passes he showed that he deserves a place in the starting 11. He also hit the post.

Also important to notice is the first goal of supertalent Aruna Dindane. With goals from Koller and Oyen, Anderlecht won 4-0!

Nice starting line up with Stoica AND Iachtchouk. Stoica indeed played a good game again. When he does this an a constant level he is european class..

His shot against the post deserved better. Good back heel from Koller and the ball was nice placed (but not nice enough though)

Radzinski will have to show a better form to keep Iachtchouk and Aruna from his place !

Next game Anderlecht - Charleroi

Nice goal from Koller ! The ball came high out of the air after the keeper stopped a shot from Iachtchouk. And Koller took it in one time and blasted to ball against the nets .. When the other 90% of the footballers on belgium fields does this the ball ends up outside the stadium !

Anderlecht created quite some good chances and the lob from Bassegio would have been a nice goal too...

Here is the article from www.onefootball.com

Quote:
The outstanding performance for Anderlecht last Saturday came from Romanian Alin Stoica. Left out of the team to face FC Porto, Stoica was determined to make his mark ahead of the Champions’ League encounters in September and October.

"I was obviously disappointed not to have played against Porto but I prefer to respond on the pitch rather than make useless complaints," he said.

Stoica orchestrated most of Anderlecht’s moves in the 4-0 win over Beveren and also scored the first goal.

"The most important thing is to win," he continued. "It’s pointless me playing well if we lose. Today the whole team proved that they are ready for Europe."

Stoica had a slight muscle strain and left the field to a standing ovation after an hour. The young Romanian, still only 20, has long been recognised as one of the most talented players at Parc Astrid.

Against this, he’s not renowned for his work rate and this would count against him when it comes to trips to Manchester and Kiev.

For such games, Stoica is likely to start on the bench and be replaced by former Genk midfielder Besnik Hasi.
------->

The last two paragraphs are strange, can someone please explain why he would be on the bench?

Other than that, he seems like a smart guy, and I hope he will become a big star for Anderlecht and Romania.

Tricolor pina la moarte!

He would be on the bench because Antheunis wants a more defensive team to start probably. It would be better with a player like Stoica / Iachtchouk on the midfield though otherwise it will be long balls the whole time and no ball possesion for Anderlecht !

I don't think he will sit on the bench against kiev and psv. maybe in manchester antheunis will play hasi. i think it would be stupid, but who knows.

at the risk of being arrogant i'm 100% convinced that we can beat manchester if we play football (not that silly defending we did in porto). against a team as man u (and psv) that leaves a lot of room anderlecht can do great things. for that we can use alin's genius!

in porto we could have had it easier if we played stoica (or iachtchouk) in midfield. a player to ease the game would have been better

The best to defend is attack

You o so right that Anderlecht need players who can keep the ball so they can create the game (at home). This takes a lot of pressure off the defence.
I think Anderlecht can do well but not if they play like Porto in the away game. That game will never be won again that way..

They need some defensive security too on the other hand because teams like PSV and Manchester have good wingers and create many chances.

At home Anderlecht shouldn't be afraid of anyone.

You're right about those wingers. Beckham vs Goor no problemo, but feel sick when I think about the duel between Van Diemen and Giggs/Bouma/Kaladze

Probably that's why Vanden Stock said that they needed more someone on the right then a striker..
