After players like De Witte, Peiremans, Vandepaar, Soetaers, Van Dessel, Van Houdt, Verlinden, Valgaeren,.. and recently Claes from STVV now Twente is after young U21 star from STVV Wouter Vrancken.

The guy is very talented. An important and strong player on the midfield. Twente offered 25 million belgian francs or 20 million + Jan Verlinden. STVV rejected all those bids (luckily ) and doesn't want to sell him.

But can they keep him ? The Dutch have more money and the contract is much better then the one STVV can offer. Even the big belgian teams can't compete i think. The player doesn't mind to leave after 3 years with STVV he says. I hope he stays 1 or 2 more seasons to play here. It's only better for him. When he also leaves then what is the use from developing talented youngsters when you loose them that easily ?
It sucks and we should do something about it so that our teams can compete back with other teams from Europe because money rules the game

I think that is very simple. The footbal-culture in Holland is very different (read better) thet the one in Belgium. Here we look and ask ourself "does this player run enough, does he work hard"? In the Netherlands they see and ask "does this player have technique, can he pass a man, is he intelligent, can he read the game"? Not surprisingely all those players you mention are skilled players (even the defenders).

It's also the fault of our big teams. Anderlecht first! They only buy big names (dheedene, vanderhaeghe, hasi...) and not big talents. Youngster without such 'starquality' do not get a chance. A guy like soetaers knows he's way better than goor. still he didn't got his chance and now he will be the man of roda next season!

Yes, the teams should come together and talk about these problems. It can't be that they don't notice it.

Why do Belgian teams fear to bring in some young talents of their owns while better teams in Holland just do it.

Mechelen, Lierse and STVV do it. But most times they can't keep them. Only Lierse a bit untill now. Gent started with it under Boskamp but sold them all to clear their debts. They had players like Delorge, Roussel, Burgio, Collen, .. but when Boskamp left they all could leave. Now Genk started a bit with it (under Boskamp, no surprise)..

The clubs aren't the only problem. Also the player who want to leave immediately when they can earn a lot of money. They just don't seem to understand it could be the end of a good career when they can't play anymore..
They better stay a few years more with their own club where they have the chance to play then sitting on the bench or stands when earning more money.
