Amazing tournie.

Maybe Euro 2000 was better because better players were playing at the time (Maldini, Zidane, Figo, Totti etc.)?

euro 2000 was way better, this euro had great matchs but lacks the real stars
euro 2000 each team had at least their very own great player, it was things of movies

now we have shockers, etc no real legends

Best players of the last 20 years = Makelele, Zidane & Ronaldo

EURO2004 was cooler, all these poshy attacking teams destroyed by Greek antifootball

Big games are easy than the other games, unfortunately. Every times we have the control the games, under the control the games, during the games we had the some possibilities, some big chances, some big okazyons, something like that but what can I do, sometimes? It's very tough to choose between Euro 2000 and Euro 2008 as to which is better. After the final on Sunday and with a little reflection it'd be easier to make the decision. 2008 has had better group stage games, 2000 had more players of pure genius.

Overall a great tournament. Huge disappointment with Holland and Portugal going out undeservedly in the quarters(Especially Portugal). But Spain have held up and are playing great, despite losing Villa for the final(Praying for a miracle:frownani

I like this Euro better than Euro 2000, but only by a bit. Euro 2004 was such a disappointment.

Huh? Undeservedly? Both Holland and Portugal were outplayed by their QF rivals.

Maybe Holland were outplayed by Russia, but Portugal I thought definitely outplayed Germany for the most part, but missed opportunities.

Pretty bad tournament frankly. Too many teams below their level, not much spirit, tactically boring and one- leveled, quite many ref's screw ups (and clearly the guidelines to refs changed during the tournament), unbelivable black out during semi's, not 1 bright star nor newcomer (maybe Villa if he can play in final, russians faded in first and last game).

In terms of the quality of football played this was the best Euro I have seen. 2000 was good but this was better.

Agreed, more prolific stars 8 years ago, but undoubtly this tourno has had the better games. Quite a treat in general.
