I worry that Spain will falter in this match, they have a lot of things in favour but the team needs to play better tactically and with more fluency in attack. The defence though is most worrying. :hopeful:

The way Gattuso has been playing I don't think it's that big of a loss though. Pirlo will hurt though.

Hard to say. Spain are the better team at the moment but their defense is pretty bad and they are known chokers. On the other hand Italy are known to play bad in the early stages and then explode into a class team. However we suck more then usual this time around and players who we were expecting big things from like Toni, Pirlo, etc... have not produced. Also we will be missing Gattuso and Pirlo which is can be looked at two ways. One is they are experienced and tend to be our top players. The other is that they have played very average if not bad for a while now and Aquilani may finally get the nod to start. If Donadoni picks our best team then we have a very good offense. However our defense is very average at the moment.

Looking forward to a tight, hopefully exciting game and I want which ever team plays the better, more attractive football to go through.

I will be very shocked if this game is anything other than an Italian win. The Euro has followed the same script for these two teams for like...forever.

I can't see Italy containing Villa and Torres. That will surely be the game-decider for me.

That's if they start together. I think Luis may opt for a 4-3-3, this is the first time Spain are facing opponents of reputable class (with due respect to Sweden and Russia).

First of all Perrotta got injured then the French players refused to kick the ball out and played on so Pirlo fouled one of the French players (can't remember which one) & got booked (therefore missing the next match). Then one of the French players got injured and before the Italians could kick the ball out the ref blew the whistle to stop the match for treatment for the injured French player.

So if the ref had blown the whistle initially when Perrotta got injured (which he should have done) then Pirlo wouldn't have fouled the French player & then gotten booked. Donadoni & some of the Italian players were complaining about that to the ref & linesmen so I'd say it will be appealed.

Confusing stuff.
