Player Watch

This thread is for players who you want to point out as being fantastic, potentially exciting or indeed disappointing in this tournament.

From the Austria game today I was very impressed with their 3 youngsters, Harnik, Korkmaz and Prodl.

Also Pepe was superb yesterday for Portugal as expected

Yeh, Prödl is probably our most promising player, already a pretty complete defender at a very young age. He's moving to Werder Bremen in the summer.

Harnik and Korkmaz are doing ok, but they still have to learn a lot...

Indeed. Werder Bremen should be glad that they got Prödls signature some time ago...

Yep, Prodl (is it actually Proedl? I've always seen it as Prodl before) looked very good.

Also I thought Gelson Fernandes looked more mini-Makelele than ever in the first game. Good awareness, very good distribution, good drive. City might not need a DM to replace Hamann after all.

Gelson was running like mad yesterday, think he had like 11,5 km in total or something. He's still too weak at the moment, needs to build some muscle to really fit into the EPL.

Podolski was excellent today, unlike his usual Bayern form.

One could say the same about Philipp Lahm.

simply untrue for last season. If he had some games he was always at least decent and made his goals unlike Klose who scored just _one_ goal in the whole 2nd half of the season.
He is currently just wasted at Bayern, he can become a top class striker (he is even as midfielder more threatning than our other strikers) but either Klinsmann uses him properly next season or he better goes to a different club.

Yeah, was expecting an average player (plays in the Polish league), but he was a very very exquisite player. Totally changed them when he came on, easily provided good balls that freed the wingers often, only for them to botch it up all the time so eagerly.

One such winger WHO DOES NOT deserve to be mentionned in this thread, is their left winger Kryznovek. So bad...

Its sad for Poland though that their best player was not even Polish (I dont care what anyone says, this guy has nothing to do with Poland apart from play there for a few years).

Hopefully he'll get his chance in one of the bigger leagues like Serie A.

Even worse... their best players played for Germany.

I'm not sure if La_fed is online infamous, but he will be suing you for stealing his ridicolously bad sense of humour.
