Italy are 'terrified' of facing the Oranje - Sneijder

Holland midfielder Wesley Sneijder believes Italy are 'terrified' of facing the Oranje in their opening Group C game at Euro 2008 on Monday.

The 23-year-old insists his side are feeling no fear ahead of the European Championships, and have no reason to be scared of world champions Italy or the other much-fancied team in Group C, France. 'We can have them,' he told Sportweek magazine.

'We must not make the opponent too big. 'That is a Dutch thing. Look at the Italians, they are also afraid of us, be sure of that. They are terrified.

'The same goes for the French. I know for sure that they need to be prepared.' The Real Madrid man also believes that the tournament's games are likely to be very close and may even be decided by luck.

'The differences are really small,' he said.

'Many duels are decided on minor details, sometimes even only with a lot of luck.

'You see that in the Champions League too. I think the top countries are very close. Everyone is tactical, technical and physically strong. We are one of the better teams, so we do have a chance ..

I like this challenge heheh .. come on

Ah, yes... Romania with their 3 defensive midfielders, and France with their Makelele who is basically 3 defensive midfielders.

Should be an all-out attacking classic.

I haven't seen Romania play but I assumed they play the way they used to.

Anyhow, still be better than Italy Holland. Watchign one team attack and the other play bunker isn't a cracker.

Spain-Russia Italy-Holland Portugal-Turkey are the most intriguing ones in terms of attractive football.

Romania really know how to play as a unit and they showed some great attractive football against Russia Of course we're no France, but they were still impressive.

i do like and respect the italian tactics . they usually teach many teams how to win with less work than others .
and despite that i see holland are a bit overrated , but they at least they can bring some show against big team such as italy and we shall see strong competition between them . for this reason , i see this game as the most attractive in the 1st round

It doesn't mean you always play bunker but you will against the Dutch. The only difference is that people will call it a great defensive display instead of a bunker.

I also appreciate aspects of the Italian game but all I envision is a repeat of their EURO 2000 game (I think) where it was one way traffic. In 8 years some things change but some things stay the same.

Spain v Russia ..

actually , i haven`t seen the Russian team for long time . it`s difficult to predict or imagine how this game will be . i hope Spain to win this game due to obvious reasons and to see El Nino and other reds players in spain`s jerseys will be enough for to hope them win .. but of course to see an interesting and open game will be more important .
