June 9th (20:45 CET): Holland v Italy

FORZA ITALIA! The starting team is still a question, but if I must predict:

Buffon; Zambrotta, Cannavaro, Materazzi, Grosso; Gattuso, Pirlo, De Rossi; Camoranesi, Toni, Di Natale.

Sorry Deano, but Robben, RVN, Sneijder and Van Persie are going to burn you.

Probably the best match of the tournament. Both teams look very very good.

Italy have to take the ball in Holland's half to be able to go against their defence first p

Eh, dont make me competitive now we dont need to take the ball in Holland's half more than 5 times to score about 3 goals.

I'd even say he's our best defender :embarass:

CL experience where he did well. I meanhe didn't give Malouda an inch for example and he hasn't looked bad for Blackburn. (yes Blackburn I know :embarass: still better than Wigan aye)

Melchiot is terrible though (but won't be starting thankfully)

I think Holland will have memories of our friendly in 2005 when we suddenly destroyed them in the space of 10 minutes either side of half time, but luckily, we are not that good anymore... I think it will be a draw personally.

I would've given you guys a chance but an Arsenal-less team against 1-Arsenal-Player team is a no match, in my opinion.

Persie gonna eat you guys alive, as long as he does not get injured

Ron Vlaar you mean p

I'm aiming towards a draw too but to keep with my 0 points for Holland prediction, I say 1-2 to Italy.

*nods* infact you might have a higher chance as Mannone has been slightly more reliable than Persie in last couple of seasons

yeah Italy was great that day. Toni outplayed our central defender.

this season though, Toni had no game against Mathijsen twice this season (Bayern-HSV) so i'm confident about that. lot will depend on how Pirlo and Di Natale will be stopped. no supply=no chance.

So who has the better bench?

I know Holland have players who can change the game and Italy may have the likes of Aquilani, Cassano and Del Piero waiting to come in

I saw the Wales game. We looked slow and not very creative against a team that had 10 behind the ball. We also looked a bit vulnerable at the back on counter attacks, though there were very very few of them indeed. Knowing Italy will defend much better than Wales and will counter attack 100s time better, I am worried. It will take just one wonder pass from Pirlo or a Toni header after he had pushed around 2 defenders. I will be happy with a draw.
