Dutch, French, Italian and Romanian friendlies prior to Euro 2008

So what's your schedules like? and will there be any shocks when it comes to player selections for the final 23?

We've got Ukraine tomorrow, Denmark on Wednesday then Wales to close it off next weekend. All games to be played in Holland.

Team news for tomorrow is that we'll be without vd Sar, Ruud, Robben, Sneijder and Melchiot, so there'll be chances for players on the fringe to prove whether they'll make the final 23 or not.

Fringe players include Khalid Bouhlarouz, Orlando Engelaar, Dirk Kuijt and Denny Landzaat (and Timmer or Boschker for the 3rd goalie spot but who cares p). Since Seedorf decided to leave on his own, 2 from the 4 will make it and all arrows point to Kuijt making the final 23 afterall. For the final spot...

despite Bouhlarouz doing nothing for the last 2 seasons , dropping him would mean that we'll go into Euro 2008 with only 6 defenders and that's pretty suicidal if you ask me. If only Jaap Stam was around and 5 years younger aye

Italy play Belgium on the 30th in Firenze

No real shocks at the moment. 24 called, 1 to be dropped, likely to be excluded is Montolivo, Aquilani or Quagliarella.

It sucks that VDV dropped out. Euro is a rare chance to see him now that he's living behind those high walls.

Why do you mean, will Rafael Van Der Vaart miss the euro?

Why would any coach leave Dirk Kuyt out of their squad, he's a very useful player.

That's true...

But as lonely striker he simply isn't good enough.
Both Van Nistelrooy and Huntelaar are better finishers.
Vennegoor of Hesselink will be our 3rd (sub) striker for sure.

But I can still see another role for Kuyt in our team.
With his workrate/mentality he still can be very useful for us.

We won 3 - 0, goals from Huntelaar, Kuyt and Babel (although that one probably didn't cross the line).

Funny we beat Russia 3-0 in a friendly a month ago.

However, I hope we lose to Montenegro so that we don't go in thinking we are favourites to advance...I think that we are always better when we are the underdog...
