Would be nice. I'd like to win in regulation time and have the scorer of the winner celebrate in front of Domenech.

I don't think Germany have enough talent to challenge, and I'd love to say Spain but who knows with them. Holland and Portugal don't look very impressive as of right now.

Semifinalists IMO:

Germany
Spain/Romania (1 will fail, the other will do great things)
Italy
Croatia

Portugal..? Well, they might win the whole thing, but it's far more likely they'll drop out 1st round.

Oh, and to say this:

Impressive Teams:
Spain
Romania
Croatia
Germany

Medium-ly-Impressive Teams:
Poland
Italy
Czech Rep
Sweden

Less-than-Impressive teams:
France
Greece
Turkey
Russia

Non-Impressive Teams:
Netherlands (unfortunately)
Portugal
Switzerland
Austria

Turkey and Russia at leaast play good technical football. Romania and Poland from what Ive seen are all about the counters.

It´s easy to be technical against England and Norway. But try to beat Holland and Portugal on technique.

I don´t know about Poland, but Romania can play a technical game with the right players.

Well, losing both games with Scotland is not very impressive for a WC finalist

Yeah LOL

It wasn´t a critic to Russia btw. You guys have a technical team, that´s true. I liked how you played vs England in Moscow.

Get Van Basten out of there and I'll give you top seed :smileani: In fact I want the Dutch to win if Romania can't p

hypno, beating Lithuania at home in the dying minutes seem great to you? Or drawing with Ukraine away? May your team prove itself in the finals, but they did nothing in the qualifiers save beating Italy at home, which was indeed very... powerful. And that was a while ago. So, no, I still think France is less than impressive.

I know everyone thinks his team is the best. We all know not all 16 can the best, though, right?

Frankly, I feel Romania is barely among the top 8 with the current team (oh, and hypno, I think overall France is better than Romania, but your form sucks).

if we want a rematch, the both teams have to improve their way to play and prove that their reputation is at the level.

I strictly have nothing to say but I want that comes out.

It's hard to tell who's going to do best in this tournament. Football is rapidly changing now.

I'd love to see France-Italy all over again, granted it would be one helluva nerve-wrecking experience.

I don't know how much confidence I have in Donadoni. The morale of the Italian NT is on a high right now. I like to attribute this change in mentality to them, and of course Donadoni himself. I'll be the first to admit (and my comments are evidence on XT) that I was calling for his head in September 2006. But kudos to him for turning things around. Maybe not too convincingly, however, the job was done. Next step, wait for the draw, and prepare for your opponents.

The next 7 months all depend on player form in the leagues, NT friendlies, the injuries, and then May by the time he makes his final squad-list.

Finally, it's not necessary that they meet in a final...perhaps earlier too!

Don't lament the treachery of time;
long have dogs danced over the carcasses of lions.

Don't suppose that their dancing raises them above their masters;
for dogs remain dogs, and lions remain lions.

Insult me as you wish;
For my silence to the depraved is a response.

It's not that I have no response, but;
A lion does not reply to a dog.

I would love to see a France-Italy rematch in a final as well, though I am not optimistic that it will happen. I was very impressed with Scotland and it is unfortunate that they could not qualify. There two wins against France show that they are indeed a formidable opponent.

I am curious to see how Romania will do. They could be the surprise of the tournament.
