Good thread.

I edited your post there Deano to add the flags. Hope you don't mind. I was having problems finding larger ones, so I just made them all small.

I'm sorry, but Switzerland's key player is Müller?

Absolutely not. Switzerland's key player is the Captain, Frei. AFTER Frei, Hakan Yakin and Tranquillo Barnetta are key players. AFTER them are Cabanas and Wicky.

Müller is at best an average player for the Swiss, and his main contribution in the World Cup was making 2 Handballs in the box and a foul in the box that were never noticed.

Also, I don't think Müller has even played in the friendlies, the vastly superior Eggimann has been called up, he is a CB as well, and he is amazing at the Bundesliga club Karlsruhe, if he plays as well for his NT as he does for his club, he will be a permanent addition.

Thanks. Any more and I would like them to be in PMs to avoid this thread turning into a key player slanging match bewteen posters.

However it can indeed be a thread where you discuss all teams... potential winners... I will often update betting markets in here aswell.

Only in terms of population, though, Switzerland and Netherlands have less territory.

These things are always hard, I don't know if Basinas is really a key player. Infact, I don't know who our key player is, we really don't have one. It's really a thorough team effort. All I know is i'm glad you changed it and took Charisteas out. :dielaugh:

Only correction I noticed was we also qualified for the Euro in 1980.

Before you're quick to comment... you should realize that it was changed after I posted that.

BTW I agree with Christos when he says we really have no key player. Although I personally would go with Fanis Gekas as he has carried us through several games and has established a name for himself in the Bundesliga.

We'll need him firing on all cylinders.
