It would be sad in the sense that a nation with one of the most lucrative (perhaps best) leagues in the world cannot manage to qualify for a tournament. I would like to see them qualify, but given the position they're in at this moment and time in their group, it would suggest that they don't deserve to go through.

Well that's debatable, that's why I put "perhaps" Yes, most expensive

sitting where they are england don't deserve to go thru , but in saying this i hope that they can swing a few results and qualify because it would be sad to see them not playing in euro 08 .

There is only one result they can manage to swing. Even with that, they must sit back and pray the Russians fuk it up...

Keep hearing this "England don't deserve to go through" line. It is a group played over a number of games and if the results determine that England will qualify so be it. Nothing undeserving about that.

I think we can still go through, if we go out then I will support whoever plays the best football, so probably Italy or France.

IF its best football, then Romania.

Regardless, I'm definitely going for Romania. My dark horses.

Yeah Romania is a good shout. Good to see them having a resurgence on the international scene and would like to see them do well. Their teams in the past have always been pleasing to the eye. Always good technically. I also hope Greece ruffle a few feathers again.

Greece isn't ruffling anyone's feathers nowdays, it'll be Romania who'll do that

You never know they may be a nuisance again to some teams. They will be underrated like last time. This will suit them. Not saying they are going to defend their crown or anything p

i hope England fails to qualify. the weird thing is that I love English club football, but I really dislike the national team. I think it is because I lived in Ireland for several years and maybe adopted a bit of the local rivalry. I like to see the both Irish teams do well, and I wish Scotland and Wales best of luck, but I strongly dislike the English national team. If Russia can deny England from qualifying, then happy days

Maybe because of teams like Arsenal, having no English players playing? p

Well, you can easily remove the smiley, because what you say is very true. The Premiership is one of the world's best leagues, but apart from a few players (Gerrard, Rooney, ...) the star players are all foreigners. This of course is negative for the English national team, which is still good but definitely not amongst the best national teams in Europe. Italy, Germany, France, Croatia, Holland, and maybe Spain are all better than England. If Premiership players would invest more in English players instead of expensive foreign stars, the English NT would benefit from it.

Come on Russia tonight. I really like Israel and normally I would support them, but Israel is out already, and I rather have Russia going to Euro2008 than England.
