Sporting vs. Benfica (12.7.02)

This don't need no stinking hype.

my keys to success:

Mantorras is effective
Nuno puts a few in
Defenders can hold up against JVP and Quaresma
Moreira doesn't give up bad goals

These other things I will assume:
ZZ continues his good run
Petit, Tiago are solid in the middle
Simao eats up the Sporting right back
Fighting spirit continues to show itself

That's just plain laughable, even hoping or praying for either defense to be good is laughable. Solidly put, both teams have most of their main players in the midfield and striking areas. It should be a game, seeing as their both teams of the same standard, but if the midfield hogs too much, we won't see anything interesting.

i hope you are right and hopefully we will see some goals but these derbys generally turn into very defensive games. I think, however, that Camacho will change that a little bit.

BENFICA HAMMERS TOMORROW!

....There was also a conspiracy against Sporting to keep them out of 1st place by 26 points. The conspiracy is about to be revealed in a public judicial forum soon enough. It's hasn't anything to do with Golden whistles, but with Golden Showers, as Sporting Administration and coaching has conspired to piss all over themselves this season.

Stymied by the Omnimpotent? You're talking about F1 again, aren't you?

Too bad you can't make it, man. What are the chances of a weekend not so far in the future? When can we expect to cash in that rain check?

I think that considering Benfica usually has a hard time with lower teams, I don't know how they expect to beat a team who's currently higher than them in the standings. I think either team could take it, although I don't know why some of you are playing down Sporting though, they are a strong attacking team like you, not to mention that Jardel can go through a whole game playing crap and suddenly score in 2 goals from nowhere! It should be a good game, it'll come down to who plays their cards right, and gets the ball up to the front quicker and scores.

Since I haven't been able to post much, here we go:

Forca Benfica :fero: Time to open up a can of whoop ass and hammer those ***** cats!

And F1, if JVP and Jardel dive in the right spot then maybe they'll win. In addition, we're not playing down Sporting we're hyping the team we love. Same can't be said for you confused little boy!

It will be the last derby to be played at the Alvalade!!

You never said that. You're confused because you can't decide who to support whether it's Benfica, Sporting, or Porto. Which doesn't make you a true fan of any of them. I hope, for our sake, that you don't become Benfiquista.

He was born a Benfiquista.

Sorry Pila, had to say that before you thought of putting him on us.

1. I have said at least 50 times that I will be a Sporting fan
2. I have ALSO said 50 times, that I will NEVER EVER support Porto
3. If you're gonna start talking about bandwagons again, then you're talking about me joining around 12 years ago when I was around 3-4.
4. I might be all Sporting but I will always respect Benfica, that's the way my support is going, I'll like one, respect the other, and hate another.
