Sporting vs Guimarăes - 2001/02 Portuguese League

Sporting takes on a tough Guimaraes team tonight?

Boloni called up the young guns Hugo Viana and Quaresma.Tello didn't get selected.
With the Porto loss and Boavista tie this weekend,we are in good position to tie Porto with a win and be 3 points behind Boavista.
I hope Quaresma starts.Oh yeah Quiroga hurt himself in Saturdays practice,he's expected to be out at least 2 weeks. That sucks!
Anyway the game is on at 330 eastern time. Can Jardel keep his scoring streak going?

This is definitely a big challenge for us. However, I am confident we can pull through.

I would love to see Hugo Viana get some playing time today. This kid is the real deal! One of the things I like most about Boloni is that he takes a chance on the young kids, like he's done with Quaresma and Niculae.

Hopefully Quiroga's injury won't be as severe as the one he had 2 years ago. :depress: However, Babb has been playing well for us and should get a well deserved start alongside Beto, who by the way deserves to start on Saturday for Portugal.

Probable Line-up: (4-4-2)

-----------------Nelson-----------------
--Prates-Beto-Babb-Rui Jorge--
-----Paulo Bento- Rui Bento-----
-Sa Pinto------------------JVP------
--------Niculae------Jardel----------

This should be a good game to watch....
It better not be a waste of my time.

I'm predicting that Nicu will fall and get a penalty kick, and that Jardel will take the penalty. Either that or Jadel will get hit in the head with a ball again!

That actually made me chuckle, LadyE.

Crap!!!!

Hey danone, I know you're not watching the game. Believe me, Jardel is trying really hard to get hit...

But the best chance besides the goal was for Beto.

You know I'm just playing!

Speaking of Vilanovenses, their season should be starting soon, right? They have a lot of work to do this season I think. Last year, they almost dropped down to the 2nd division , and now this season Gouveia and Guarda are back in the division. Could be tough.....
