Former Roda JC loanee Danilo Pereira is said to be arriving from Maritimo for 4m euros

while Cedric Soares is said to be on his way to Southampton for 4,5m euros. Is he a ready made product?or is he a work in progress like Eric Dier?

Cédric is completely ready made. He is Portugal's best RB and that's why I'm not so sure that he is going to be sold only for that amount.

He's been sold for 6.5m Euro.

Good deal as he had only one year left on his contract and all indications were that he didn't want to renew and wanted a much higher salary. In the Premiership, he will get that.

True. I think this amount is already acceptable and we will also get 15% of a future sale. I think, and hope, he will be successful in the EPL. He deserves it. Good luck for him.

Great news. Ewerton is ours! We exercised his buy out clause from Anzhi and he signed a contract valid until June 2019. The amount is not official but the rumours are that he was bought by less than what Anzhi initially asked for (€1.5M) because he arrived injured in January and took about one month before he could play.

Today Sporting Clube de Portugal is 109 years old!

Today is also marked by the start of the football season and apart from the usual medical tests for those players who are back from holidays today was mainly marked by the official presentation in Alvalade of our new football manager Jorge Jesus...

Right now in Lisbon the club is celebrating an event where prizes are given to the best athletes, teams, coaches and sports directors of the club this season and also where, amongst other things, the new official kit will be presented. I'll post it here when it's out.

One of the key moments of last night's Sporting party was the announcement that Martunis, the Indonesian kid that survived the Tsunami wearing a Portugal jersey, was invited by Sporting to join our academy.

An incredible story that once again fills all sportinguistas with pride for being part of this great club.

Ricky van Wolfswinkel, Bryan Ruiz and Douglas all coming in if the papers are to be believed.

Who's going to make way to fund this all? Willian Carvalho (to where?) as rumoured in every transfer window?

Costa Rican international Bryan Ruiz signed a 3 years contract with Sporting with a €60M buy-out clause. The negotiations between Sporting and Fulham went on for a few weeks but the attacking midfielder agreed his final terms today. Ruiz will be playing with his country in this year's Gold Cup which starts today and finishes on 26 July.

A great signing.
