Liga 14/15 J31| SPORTING 2-0 Nacional| Alvalade, 03.05.2015, 21:15 CET

Primeira Liga 2014/2015

Jornada 31

Estádio José Alvalade, Lisboa, 02.05.2015, 21:15 CET
Ref: Cosme Machado (AF Braga)
31,169 att.

vs

SPORTING CP 2-0 Nacional
(Fredy Montero 57', 90'+3')

After a week marked by the renovation of contract with many of our young players, amongst which the great promise Tobias Figueiredo, we're back in Alvalade to face Nacional. We've played them less than one month ago for the Cup and suffered to break their parked bus. Let's see if the story is repeated tonight.

One point is all we need to make sure that we finish 3rd and secure, at least, a presence in the CL play-off.

Marco Silva will surely once again show a starting XI full of changes, as the list of players called hints at.

Goalkeepers:
1 Rui Patrício and 22 Marcelo Boeck.

Defenders:
41 Cédric, 26 Paulo Oliveira, 5 Ewerton, 55 Tobias Figueiredo, 81 André Geraldes and 4 Jefferson.

Midfielders:
25 Uri Rosell, 23 Adrien, 17 Joăo Mário, 49 Francisco Geraldes and 8 André Martins.

Forwards and Wingers:
18 Carrillo, 36 Carlos Mané, 11 Diego Capel, 17 Fredy Montero and 19 Tanaka.

Incredible the amount of times that this sonofabitch of a ref didn't give us clear fouls.

Poor first half from our midfield not being able to create enough danger to the two forwards. André Martins and Capel are not taking any advantage from this rare opportunity given to them of playing from start.

Nacional didn't really take advantage of the above and although they have managed to create one goal chance they mostly have been under control by our solid defence.

Not surprising the big bucket of red puke coming out of Cosme's whistling.

Carrillo with a dangerous shot going wide but in the build up of this chance Tanaka was clearly fouled inside the box.

Great combination on the right side of our attack with Tanaka's cross being met by Montero who with one touch beat Gottardi. 1-0 at 56'.

Fantastic work by Fredy Montero in the midfield launching Carlos Mané whose shot was saved by the keeper and Montero buries the rebound.

A completely different second half with Sporting winning the midfield and winning the game.

Good game by our CBs, Cédric and also Tanaka.

The man of the match was once again Fredy Montero, superb in everything he does and showing, as if it was needed, that he is not in any way an inferior player to Slimani.
