Liga 14/15 J19| Arouca 1-3 SPORTING| Arouca, 01.02.2015, 19:00 CET

Primeira Liga 2014/2015

Jornada 19

Estádio Municipal de Arouca, 01.02.2015, 19:00 CET
Ref: Jorge Ferreira (AF Braga)

vs

Arouca 1-3 SPORTING CP
(David Simão 24' pen.; Fredy Montero 30', Carrillo 63', Tobias Figueiredo 77')

After last weekend's dreamlike round with all our opponents losing points we are going to the potato field of Arouca with the feeling that this game is a final. We're hosting Benfica in the coming round but this is the game we must win now.

Jefferson and Nani are suspended so they'll miss this one.

Starting XI:

1 Rui Patrício

41 Cédric - 55 Tobias Figueiredo - 26 Paulo Oliveira - 33 Jonathan Silva

14 William Carvalho

17 João Mário - 23 Adrien

18 Carrillo - 10 Fredy Montero - 36 Carlos Mané

Subs: 22 Marcelo Boeck, 29 Naby Sarr, 13 Miguel Lopes, 24 Uri Rosell, 8 André Martins, 11 Diego Capel and 19 Tanaka.

At 22'' Carrillo sends a missile on goal which was blocked by a defender for a corner.

In two minutes two corners for Sporting transformed in two goal kicks for Arouca.

In one of them the keeper made a great save after a great work by Montero.

Arouca makes 1-0 at 24' from the spot. A typical ball in hand situation but that one was always going to be called.

Excellent attack through the left flank with Carlos Mané doing a great pass to Montero who finished like a matador. 1-1 at 29'.

Very good first half from Sporting playing fast and direct, the only way to do it in a shit pitch like this. Like last season we went down on the score but it took us only 6 minutes to equalize. Carlos Mané is replacing Nani in the best possible way and we do seem to be willing, and capable, to win this one.

At 63' Carrillo finishes after another peach of an assist by Carlos Mané. Sporting ahead 2-1.

The hilarious note on this goal is that Sporting won the ball in Arouca's midfield after being intercepted by...the ref...of all people!

One more chance for us at 66' with a quick counter almost finishing in our third goal.

At 77' Tobias Figueiredo makes the 3-1 and makes his debut as a scorer for the first team thanks to a great header after a corner.
