FC Vizela 2-3 SPORTING CP
I arrived today in Portugal just in time to watch Sporting playing for the Cup.
We didn't start well, as it happened on Sunday against Moreirense, something that gave hope to the surprisingly good team of Vizela - by far the team that played better football against us in the Cup so far.
We managed to open the score still in the first half at 33' thanks to a very well struck penalty by André Martins after two Vizela defenders handled the ball inside the box. Vizela reacted very quickly thanks to some very bad handling of the ball of our second keeper Marcelo Boeck. Also very quickly we once again managed to gain advantage on the score through a brilliant header by Paulo Oliveira after a free-kick of André Martins. When it looked like we were going to half time with a well earned 2-1 lead, Vizela struck again, this time from a corner. Once again Marcelo Boeck didn't look good at all in the picture.
The second half was a completely different story. Sporting came back from the break stronger and faster and it didn't take too long to reach the 3-2 once again from a dead ball situation, something almost unique this season for us. This time André Martins' corner was headed by Carrillo to the goal mouth where Carlos Mané nicked in the goal that would give us the ticket for the Quarter Finals of the Cup.
A nice second half from us with a very positive note about the three goals coming from set pieces. André Martins had a very good game showing that Adrien, more than João Mário, have a serious challenger to his spot in the first XI.
Here's the line-up and subs:
22 Marcelo Boeck
41 Cédric - 26 Paulo Oliveira - 29 Naby Sarr - 33 Jonathan Silva
24 Uri Rosell

@ 63' Slimani
