Taça 14/15, R4/ Sp. Espinho 0-5 SPORTING/ Sta. Maria da Feira, 21.11.2014, 21:30 CET

Taça de Portugal 2014/2015

Round 4

Estádio Marcolino de Castro, Santa Maria da Feira,
21.11.2014, 21:30 CET
Ref: Vasco Santos (AF Porto)

vs

Sp. Espinho 0-5 SPORTING CP
(João Mário 32', Diego Capel 61', Fredy Montero 68', 81', Tanaka 77' pen.)

Club football is back after the international break with Sporting back in the Cup after kicking the fruit company (in their own pit) out of the tournament with a masterclass of football.

We will be visiting a classic of our football, Sporting de Espinho, which currently play at Campeonato Nacional de Seniores, the 3rd level in Portugal. Sadly their stadium is in such bad conditions that they are forced to host us at their neighbours Feirense in Santa Maria da Feira.

A great opportunity for Marco Silva to give some playing time to a few players that have been less used so far this season thus taking advantage to recover some of our many internationals and also rest them to Tuesday's CL match against Maribor.

Here's the line-up:

22 Marcelo Boeck
13 Miguel Lopes - 3 Maurício - 29 Naby Sarr - 33 Jonathan Silva
24 Uri Rosell
8 André Martins - 17 João Mário
36 Carlos Mané - 10 Fredy Montero 11 Diego Capel

Subs: 1 Rui Patrício, 47 Ricardo Esgaio, 14 William Carvalho,
23 Adrien, 18 Carrillo, 19 Tanaka and 56 Daniel Podence.

Sporting starting strong with André Martins lashing a free-kick that didn't goo much over the crossbar at 8'.

Great chance at 21' with Mané launching a great pass to André Martins who shot at the side netting.

Great attacking combination on the left flank with Capel going to the line, crossing and João Mário coming into the box and finishing with class. 1-0 at 31'.

Sp. Espinho 0-1 SPORTING at HT

A good first half from Sporting's side with these players wanting to take this chance to impress the manager. Espinho defended well but the difference of quality is obvious.

At 50' very dangerous free kick from Montero saved by the keeper and the rebound shot by Capel also saved.

Once again Carlos Mané breaks apart Espinho's defence with a dazzling run and leaves a killer cross for Capel to tap in. 2-0 at 61'.

Double chance for Diego Capel to make a brace with his two shots being blocked by a defender and then saved by the keeper.

What a fantastic goal! First Mané doing an excellent job on the right flank, getting rid of his marker and assisting Montero with a backheel, afterwards the Colombian dribbles two players in a very short space and delivers a superb shot from a very narrow angle to beat the keeper. Festival!

Tanaka scores from the spot cool as fúck after one of Espinho's CBs handled the ball inside the box. It was his second yellow so we are now winning 4-0 with 15' left to play...against 10 men.

Free-kick from the right with the ball ending up in Jonathan who finds Montero in a good position, El Avioncito turns his marker around and scores his second.
