Gerson Magrao - back in Europe. The next Robin Van Persie according to Mark Wotte in the period that Feyenoord actually did look outside of Benelux and Scandinavia for players.

Wonder how he's evolved

Danger created by a corner and Montero missed it by an inch.

0-1 to Arouca at 19' by Bruno Amaro after a lose ball left inside our box. Man to man marking left this guy alone.

At 32' the Arouca keeper leaves the ball bouncing outside the box and Adrien misses the long range lob. Sporting on top.

An interesting first half showing a Sporting attacking well but still suffering from those chronic problems when defending set pieces. We suffered a goal from the only corner that Arouca managed to get in the whole first half and even if Bruno Amaro's volley was good, he was left alone inside the box. In spite of this we reacted very well, actually playing better after we conceded, although we did create two big goal chances when the game was still 0-0. Maurício seems to be a permanent threat when we have corners and free kicks coming from the wings which is great news. I saw him scoring with a great header in the presentation match against Real Sociedad and he did the same today. The second goal was a proof that Wilson Eduardo is a great plus for this squad and also that Fredy Montero is class. Great reaction, turning the score in just 8 minutes, and overall a good game from our midfield/attacking players.

30,000 in Alvalade watching football in the sun.

Sporting says that his contract is valid until next year. A commission formed to judge this type of quarrels will decide about it next week. The point is that he burned himself so much with this story that even if these people say that we are right I highly doubt that he will ever wear our jersey again. Terrible attitude from a kid that was taken out of poverty by the club that gave him everything. The main culprits for this situation are those that live from making bucket loads of money from dodgy transfers. Leeches that infested Sporting for years and years that are now seeing that from this cow they will suck any more milk.

At 52' Arouca has a good chance with a shot outside the box but Rui made a great save.

One minute later Carrillo almost scores.
