Teams: SPORTING CP & Portugal NT
We played quite well in these first 45' and the only thing that made the difference on the score was a moment of sheer brilliance by Porto's Colombian striker. Obviously that Porto attacked more and create a couple of goal chances but overall we defended very well and our midfield managed to cancel the usual flow of our opponent's attack. We showed a much more balanced midfield than under Sá Pinto which to be honest wasn't that hard to do.
Oceano must have had one or two trainings with the team so this is really a game for the players to show what they can do for the club and, just like they already showed this season, they are proving to have enough quality and professionalism. The problem is that we do miss a couple of quality players in a couple of positions and that is right now making the difference.
One final note on the unnecessary rain of yellow cards coming from the usual suspect Jorge Sousa. He is just itching to send someone off and I am sure of the shirt colour he would prefer to send early to the shower.
