SPORTING at Europa League 2012/2013

Sporting will get one of the following teams as opponent in the Play-Off that gives access to the Group Stage:

Crvena Zvezda (SRB)
Feyenoord (HOL)
Horsens (DEN)
Motherwell (SCO)
Dudelange (LUX)

We can beat any of these but I would rather avoid Feyenoord (because they are good) or Crvena Zvezda (because they are tough at home).

The draw will start at 13:30 CET today.

And once again we get the Danes!

I think this the 3rd or 4th consecutive season we get Danish opponents in the play-offs.

Sporting's clearly better but I'd be scared of over confidence, I'm sure Sa-Pinto will not allow that to happen.

So you drew my local team. No trouble for you though. But for AC Horsens it will be the greatest match in the clubs history. And this will probably be the first time ever the glorious CASA Arena will be packed!

I expect you to go trough without breaking a sweat

Do you have any idea of your starting XI this coming season?, I see in your transfer thread you have added a couple of players.

If Horsens wasn't so bloody far from Copenhagen I would consider going to the game but maybe next year we get to play against another Danish side closer to Sweden.

I am working on the squad thread for this season so there you'll be able to check everything about our team this year. It's difficult to know exactly which players will be starters because there's been quite a lot of changes (both in and out) but it may be something like this:

Rui Patrício
Pereirinha - Boulahrouz - Marcos Rojo - Insúa
Rinaudo
Elias - Schaars
Labyad - Izmailov - Diego Capel
van Wolfswinkel

Other possible starters could be Cedric as a RB, Carrillo and André Martins in midfield instead of Labyad and Izmailov, and Viola upfront.

Jeez Denmark is the size of a peanut, it's only a 3 hour drive from Copenhagen

And the quoted starting XI looks good. I might even go

Some really tough competition in this year's EL.

From Pot 2 I hope we avoid Athletic Bilbao and Napoli. The most tasty seem to be Hapoel Tel-Aviv and Club Brugge.

On Pot 3 I wouldn't like us to get Lazio, Newcastle, Levante and Borussia M'Gladbach. Young Boys or Racing Genk seem to be the best options.

From top 4 I just hope we don't get Anzhi Makhachkala. All the others are beatable but personally I'd like to get some Swedish customers.

Very good draw for us. Hoping for some blood, sweat, and tears (of joy) from our boys this year. Hoping that Sa Pinto can continue what he started late last season!

Good luck but you shouldn't have too much troubles to advance, it's a pity I can't visit the game in Genk as Athletic play that day in Lyon and I'll be there. Genk isn't too far from where I live.
