Teams: SPORTING CP & Portugal NT
SPORTING 1-0 Vaslui at HT
This first half reminded me somehow what happened in our previous match at Famalicão as Domingos experiments are not exactly paying back. This time it was the bet on Pereirinha that failed to bring anything good to one of our attacking wings. This guy is for a footballer what rosé is for wine - a wishywashy tasteless pink fluid, soft defending and shy like a raindeer attacking. This was even more obvious because for me our best player in this first half was also playing on the right side of our attack. Matías was brilliant and only the lack of support did not allow him to be more efficient. He created the only goal so far but could have done even more if only he wouldn't have been forced to play for two.
The rest of the team was OK, with Capel always very important in unbalancing the opposing team, today surprisingly well supported by Evaldo. Schaars has been very wasteful on the inumerous dead ball situations created by the constant fouling from the Romanian butchers.
Vaslui were horrible. Unable to create anything upfront and only capable of stopping our game through dirty fouls.
With one man advantage and if Pereirinha is replaced by Carrillo or even Diego Rubio we should seal off this one quite comfortably.
