Liga R18| SPORTING 3-3 Naval, Alvalade, 04.02.2011

A very special game is about to start in Alvalade. Not because it will change anything from another disappointing season but because it will be, most probably, the last game of one of our best ever players: Liedson.

As much as our current "leaders" want to disguise it, this is a sad day for the club and one more proof, as if that was still necessary, of the sheer incompetence of the people that has been running our club. The sale of Liedson is the last statement of complete surrender for the current season and we can all be happy if the current 3rd place in the league can be kept.

Let's just hope that things radically change in the coming elections.

Here is the starting line-up and bench of the game that starts at 21:15 CET:

Rui Patrício
Abel - Daniel Carriço - Polga - Evaldo
André Santos - Pedro Mendes
Zapater
Vukcevic ------ Hélder Postiga
LIEDSON

Subs:
Hildebrand, Torsiglieri, Grimi, Matias Fernández, Cristiano, Diogo Salomão and Saleiro.

Vukcevic had a very good first 15' and we have no left wing tonight.

At 28' we have our first substitution. Zapater goes OUT and IN comes Diogo Salomão. Not sure why.

Postiga did a good job in creating the goal chance after a very good counter led by Salomão and the eternal Levezinho was there to knock it in. 1-0 after 33'.

At 43' Fábio Junior does 1-1 from the spot courtesy of Evaldo who incredibly missed a back pass of 2 metres and then pulled Marinho's arm when he was going to shoot. Pathetic.

And at 45+1' it's 1-2 for Naval by Michel Simplicio after they took very good advantage of one of many bad passes in our defense-attack transitions.

It's 1-2 at HT and although this score is a complete farse when looking at what happened during this first half it's another proof of the absolute chaos in which this team is at the moment.

The starting line-up (with 3 DMs against the worst side of the league and no left wing) did not give much hope of seeing something different from the usual and until Zapater left (injured?) we only existed through Vukcevic's rides on the right. Things got slightly better with Salomäo on the pitch and it was then that we scored the deserved lead. The last 5 minutes were just another sad episode to add to the Guimarãeszadas, Paços de Ferreiradas and other similar circus numbers that we've witnessed this season.

GOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOLOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!

POSTIGA from the spot 2-2

Vukcevic tried to lob the ball over a Naval defender inside the box and a clear handball gave us the equaliser.

Ridiculous offside call on Liedson as the ball was passed by a defender.

At 67' Naval does 2-3 by Godemeche. Rui Patrício looks very bad on this one. Crazy second half.

Liedson doesn't deserve to lose in his last match! Se calhar ainda resolva!

Agora não, que joga o Benfica! (Deolinda)
