PL R27: SPORTING 2-1 V. Setúbal; Alvalade; 19.04.2010

A win will practically secure the 4th place. Carvalhal bets on a full attack line-up:

Rui Patrício
João Pereira - Tonel - Daniel Carriço - Miguel Veloso
Pedro Mendes
Izmailov - João Moutinho - Yannick Djaló
Carlos Saleiro - Liedson

Subs:

Tiago, Polga, Grimi, Adrien, Pereirinha, Matías Fernández, Hélder Postiga

At 12' 0-1 by Collin with a powerful header from a good corner. Completely unmarked though.

Great chance missed by Liedson after a nice combination on the left. Sporting is pressing for the equalizer.

Now it's Carriço missing a sitter after the sequence of a corner. We deserve at least one by now.

0-1 at HT

Vitória must be still trying to find out how on earth they can manage to be ahead in a game where they have made one attack and one shot but that's football. Sporting was far from playing well and the few chances created were poorly wasted but this score is too tough.

Veloso and Djaló have been woeful which means our left side was almost non-existant.

Matias should come in.

Matias falls inside the box after a clumsy challenge by Sandro and...he is booked for diving.

SPORTING 2-1 Vitória de Setúbal FT

A much better second half from Sporting, not because we've attacked more but simply because we've attacked better. The best way to score a goal it is not always the fastest and this game just proved it. What Djaló tried to do running like a headless chicken in the first half was done in a much more rational way by Matias Fernández in the second, who did change the pace and the whole picture of our attacking moves.

Good game by Izmailov and a very poor one by Veloso.

Finally...I really hope Vitória stays up.
