PL R18: Belenenses 1-2 SPORTING; Restelo, 14.02.2009

Paulo Bento said it on the pre-match press conference and our Lisbon rival's unofficial paper splashed it today on their headline...the pressure is on us and we have no margin for error.

We're playing Belenenses away and we have to win. Rui Patrício is out with a broken finger but everyone else is fit, including the man that, after having been out injured for 2 games, every sportinguista was willing to see back on the pitches...Liedson.

Here's the probable line-up:

Tiago
Pedro Silva - Daniel Carriço - Polga - Miguel Veloso
Rochemback
Izmailov - Vukcevic
Joăo Moutinho
Liedson - Derlei

Subs: Ricardo Batista, Tonel, Caneira, Pereirinha, Romagnoli, Yannick Djaló and Hélder Postiga.

Kick-off at 21:30 CET

Fortunately there is a change on the line-up that I've posted before. Adrien is playing as a DM instead of the fat one.

Actually, the fat one is on the field and it's Moutinho who's surprisingly out. Don't know why.

It's really weird to see us plating without our captain running things in the midfield but we've actually played quite well in these first 20'.

Too many missed chances for us in these first 30'. We should have scored already.

Diakité elbows Rochemback and opens his eyebrow. Nothing happens to the Belenenses man though.

0-0 at HT

Only one team willing to attack and that's Sporting. Complete domination but as so many times this season there's been a lack of punch in the box.

Great game so far by Adrien - so good that we almost forgot he is replacing no more no less than the player that fielded for us during the last 94 league matches.

On the opposite end, the incredibly over-hyped Miguel Veloso - wasted passes, poor skills on the ball, ridiculous free kicks.

1-0 for Belenenses by Marcelo. He was offside but that doesn't matter.

Belenenses started better in the 2nd half and Sporting accused the goal. The main reason was that Rochemback only lasts 45' and it's like if we were playing with one man down.

We were, because PB fortunately saw it and took Rochemback off, bringing in Djaló.

Two fouls from Belenenses on the same move and the ref doesn't see any of them. As if we still needed that.

Second time in 2 minutes that José Pedro hacks Pedro Silva down and still no yellow. Unbelievable.

Postiga comes in for Derlei.

Great work by Vukcevic completely isolating Hélder Postiga who chips it wonderfully over the keeper. Virada!!!

Miguel Veloso almost put the cherry on top of the cake made of crap which was his game tonight by making a completely unnecessary free kick outside our box at the 93rd minute...but fortunately José Pedro blasts it against the wall.

1-2 FT

A complete rollercoaster this second half. We lost the plot with Belenenses goal but Paulo Bento got it completely on target with his substitutions. Djaló mixed things up at their defense and Postiga was the key for the turnaround - created the first goal and finished brilliantly the second.

COME ON SPOOOOORTING!!! :fero:
