Great work by the Russian after an excellent breakthrough pass by Moutinho. What a start.

Anselmo misses a sitter hitting the post after a great run and cross by Varela. In spite of this chance, Sporting is playing better now.

It seems that Grimi is injured so Caneira should come in to replace him as LB.

1-1 at HT

An entertaining first half that ends up having a fair score as although Sporting was overall better than Estrela, the hosts were more dangerous in their goal chances.

Our defense is having lots of trouble with the physical but very skilled game of N'Diaye and above all Silvestre Varela, who actually is a Sporting player on loan at Amadora. Clearly this guy does have enough quality to play in our squad.

In Sporting, João Moutinho, Liedson and Postiga were the best while Rui Patrício is having one of those nights.

Perfect cross by Rochemback for the lethal head of O Levezinho.

At Estrela, Celsinho comes in which makes the 3rd Sporting player on loan on the pitch playing for the home team.

Right afterwards Sporting scores the 3rd but once again a ball in/out situation coming from the cross leaves Sporting's players protesting the ref's decision. Very dubious.

3' on the pitch were enough for the ex-primadonna of Montenegro to leave his mark on the game that also marks his return to the team, after two months of an almost self-imposed absence from the team.

Ridiculous offside call on Liedson when he was going alone for the 4th.

Meanwhile Pedro Silva comes in for Izmailov.

Estrela Amadora 1-3 SPORTING FT

A better Sporting and a worse Estrela ended up completely changing the face of the game in the second half. We took over the midfield and a goal hungry Liedson did the rest.

Good and important win.

Apoteose de Vukcevic e arte de 31
by Jean-Paul Lares in O Jogo, 06.12.2008

A Estrela:
Liedson

Lied... show baiano em cinco actos

I see. Well, I used to write myself Sporting's match reports and sometimes I'd translate them from our press but right now my life doesn't leave me time for more than this. Get yourself a Portuguese speaking girlfriend and you'll have your problem solved.
