I'm glad that you mention it because that is exactly what I was going to say to start my comments on the game.
I don't think that Sporting played that well but our 2nd half was better than both Porto's and Benfica's games put together.
It was an irritating first half and that had a lot to do with the fact that Guimarães really came to this match in order to fight for winning it and not only to keep a draw. I find that really positive from them and they just couldn't make it because we do have better players individually that ended up solving the match in our favour.
As you've said Romagnoli
(MoM for me) is now confirming why was he one of the brightest hopes of Argentinian football. He is now a stronger player, physically, than when he arrived at Alvalade, and that linked with his natural skills and great vision are giving him the chance to become the reference that we were hoping to have in the number 10 position.
Of course that Izmailov
should also be mentioned because it was his entry that ended up deciding the match. When inspired he is a lethal player capable of deciding matches and we do need that very much.
I also liked very much the way Miguel Veloso
played (in all positions), Moutinho
(of course) and also Liedson
, who in spite of missing a sitter was one of the main responsible for the change of attitude of the team in the 2nd half.
