PL R2: FC Porto - SPORTING; Dragão, 26.08.2007

It must be a long time since we haven't played Porto twice with such a short interval so nothing like giving them a double shot of Russian vodka

To start the hostilities, here is a little starter...

Pre-match interviews have the value that one wants to give them but it can't be denied that the current coach of the evildoers is starting to be a serious candidate to stay in history as one of the most hilarious clowns that the old Invicta institution have had at their service.

Before the SuperCup game he entered folklore by saying that for them winning was "as usual as brushing their teeth". Needless to say that the amount of jokes related with the bad mouth hygiene of Mr Jesualdo is growing day by day.

Now, when Paulo Bento's team is on the verge of once again visiting the Dragão stadium, Mr Chinese Colgate when asked on wether he thought his club was favourite for this game he shot: "of course we are favourites, it is part of our philosophy!".

The only thing one can comment on this is by simply reminding Mr Caries what is his record as Porto coach against Paulo Bento's Sporting:

3 games, 1 draw, 2 defeats - 1-3 in goals

11.08.2007 - SuperCup - FC Porto 0-1 Sporting CP
17.03.2007 - League - FC Porto 0-1 Sporting CP
22.10.2006 - League - Sporting CP 1-1 FC Porto

Haven't you heard of those fake colgate tooth pastes that appeared in many cheapo shops in Portugal a few weeks ago?

I think I know who was trying to sell them...

I also don't attend those shops but I've watched telejornal when I was in Portugal and that's the sort of opening news you get there.

He was your coach, don't try to hide it p

The first classic of this year's League is starting in about 5' and our starting XI will really be the one that was predicted by the press.

50,000 people expected in the evildoers' dungeon.

Força SPORTING!!!

0-0 HT

Porto was more dangerous but Sporting is holding very well in the midfield. With a little bit more boldness we can balance the game in the 2nd half.

not a great game so far, but a couple decent goal opportunities, with porto having clearly the edge

that quaresma free kick that hit the bar was beautiful

other than that i can recall about 2 or 3 other goal chances for the blues, and one for sporting, by moutinho

lets see what the 2nd half brings, so far so good

ah yes....quaresma might have seen a red card on that fault over miguel veloso...its hard from the refs perspective to see how he turned his foot up to hit the other player, so the yellow he gave is understandable

True...and that karate kick of Bosingwa on Moutinho did not even deserve a yellow from the "brave" ref :rollani:

ahahahah on that kick...did u see jesualdos face?LOL

he closed his eyes and made a " oh my god !" scared facelol

i swear that if he was asked about that in a post match interview and ( naturally) denied the action being worth it of a card...he would deny it...and then he should be shown that image of himself

porto scores after a couple mistakes from sportings defense...

1st, the goalie grabs the ball with the hand when he shouldnt, after being passed by polga

2ndly, why did that barrier moved? both the goalie and those 3 sporting players shouldnt have moved forward like crazy like they did....thats how raul meirieles was able to score....

ah yes, and derlei gets his 1st yellow card lol why? coz of protesting...looks like that hasnt changed from last year

now go sporting! tie tie tie!
