OMT: SPORTING 5-1 Nacional; Alvalade, 03.02.07 - PL Round 17

Sporting hosts tonight at 22h15 (CET) Nacional with a win taking us back to the second place.

The Madeira squad has been having a fairly good season but it's a must win game for us if we want to do more than the 3rd place this season.

According to the press, Paulo Bento might present this starting line-up tonight:

Ricardo

Caneira -- Tonel -- Polga -- Tello

Miguel Veloso

Nani -- Joăo Moutinho

Carlos Martins

Liedson -- Yannick Djaló

8 Portuguese players, 6 of them made in Alvalade...and no Chinese.

Porto lost home 0-1 with Estrela da Amadora with a goal scored at the 93rd minute...does Sporting need a better hint than this one for tonight? Nope.

The game is about to start and Sporting's starting line-up is the same I've posted earlier today.

25' 0-1 Bruno Amaro for Nacional

Sporting started the game full spead ahead but didn't manage to score. Nacional defended well and on their first chance they've scored. What a made round for the Big 3.

Amazing save by Nacional's keeper Diego Benaglio after a great shot of Caneira

The ref just cut a very dangerous attacking move by Sporting transforming it into a foul against Carlos Martins.

Anyway, 0-1 at HT. Not fair but there's still half a game to go.

The ref saw a penalty that did not exist for Sporting and Liedson, always a man of justice, shot to the sky.

Congratulations to Duarte Gomes. Haven't seen something so clear in some years.
Red card to Caneira in the first half, made up penalty, 1st Bueno goal should have been disallowed...

No wonder you had no money to buy players. You can only stretch the budged so much...

and the ref felt so frustrated by it, that he decided to validate bueno's goal to make the 1-1
