I never enjoyed his opinions about football analysis (which were really poor like most of the guys in the sports media) but i have to recognize he was a great entertainer.

I heard that in his last game, Sporting vs. AZ, there was this line:
"Vai ŕ merda Sá Pinto!" (**** you Sá Pinto)
"Ó Jorge, aquele era o Joăo Moutinho..." (Jorge, that was Moutinho)

Another one that I heard myself during a Portugal vs. Northern Ireland game:
"Os ouvintes que me desculpem, mas tenho que dizer isto: a selecçăo está a jogar uma merda!"
(I beg the listeners to excuse me, but I have to throw it out: Portugal is playing like shit!)

Also classic were the TV games that SIC used to broadcast every week day in the afternoon some 10 years ago (from the spanish, german league, etc.). He was talking about something unrelated, then it was a goal, huge party, the famous words (Ripa na rapaqueca, é disto que o meu povo gosta!) and put some african music playing to celebrate the goal.

I'll miss him...

it has to with the popular style SIC wanted to provide to Portugal... That music during the matches really sucked but I think it's better listening African music during a Bundesliga match than listening him comentanting.
