Palestinian Soccer Cheifs calls FIFA to expel Israel

Palestinian soccer chief calls on FIFA to expel Israel

After Jerusalem refuses to let Arab players, coaches into West Bank, Jibril Rajoub says: 'Give Israel the red card.'

By Uzi Dann and News Agencies | Aug. 16, 2013 | 11:34 AM

The Palestinian Football Association yesterday called on world soccer’s governing body to expel Israel from its ranks, claiming that Jerusalem has barred several Arab youth teams into the Palestinian territories.

“We ask FIFA for a red card, because the yellow card has been raised now for a long time,” PFA chief Jibril Rajoub told reporters in the West Bank city of Ramallah. “We are clinging to the red card to take away the Israeli occupation’s legitimacy and we will not accept any compromise,” he added.

According to Rajoub, Israel denied representatives of the West Asian Football Federation, which includes 12 Arab national football associations, permits to enter the Palestinian territories to play in the WAFF Under-17’s Championship, that was due to begin last night.

Three managers of the Jordanian football union, two UAE representatives and 13 managers and players from Iraq were refused entry, he said.

Rajoub said that that WAFF was contacting FIFA and the European football federation, UEFA, to which Israel also belongs, to “put pressure on Israel to issue the necessary permits” for the tournament to go ahead. Israel was due to supply permits for all the teams by August 10.

FIFA has promised to discuss the issue and a UEFA spokesman said the organization will issue a statement on the matter within 48 hours. The Palestinian Authority is also due to host the WAFF Under-21’s Youth Championship in the first week of October.

Last month, FIFA president Sepp Blatter said during a visit to Israel and the PA that he will establish a task force to address Palestinian concerns over travel restrictions for soccer players and officials through border crossings controlled by Israel.

Before they blame Israel, they must accept Jewish and Israeli players first. When Swansea went for training seasons in Emirates, Itay Shechter had to stay in Wales because he was not permitted entry. The don't even recognized the right for Israel to exist , they always refused to play against Israeli NT or clubs . My concern is growing ,Muslim influence in football. Qatar would host World Cup and if Israel qualifies , our players would need special permissions and security needs just to entry and play. Clubs like PSG , Manchester City , Real Madrid and Barcelona are all owned by Muslims.

Another hypocrisy from FIFA . They don't accept Kurdistan , Arab Christians, berbers , alawites, druzes , Tibet , Chechnya in FIFA. Instead, they welcome so-called "Palestinians" - fake nation which never existed in history.

Without a doubt it is hypocrisy. FIFA let them exist as a federation without even having a country. Rajoub is trying to promote himself politically to their people and obviously has raised in this sense among them. The old arab Israel bashing tactic in order to give a camouflage of their internal problems.

They forget precisely why Israel plays in Europe because they refuse to play us because they are afraid to lose. Israel dominated Asia and was one of the co founders of the Asian football federation.

Anyways, let´s not give attention to these guys, not worthy.

Next week in Switzerland once again the rubbish, political propaganda and cynicism will try to win sport.
The head of palestinian football association once again will try to force FIFA to expel Israel from all competitions.

Let´s see how FIFA will take the issue this time.
