Israel's Fastest Player

Who is Israel's fastest player?

Ben Sahar

Itay Shechter

Muhammad Ghadir

Gal Alberman

Tamir Cohen

Tal Ben-Haim

Maor Buzaglo

Elyaniv Barda

feel free to add any names...

I think Sahar is probably our fastest player, maybe Shechter and Barda are close?

IMO Sahar is not the fastest, maybe in a short space he has a good sprint which makes him a very dangerous striker with his technique.

From the players you mentioned in this list, in terms of speed I would say that Ghadir and Tal Ben Haim (the Maccabi Petah Tikva forward) are the fastest players.

It doesn´t mean other players you mentioned are fast as well. For example Itay Shechter has good speed, but that is not his main attribute, the same goes to Barda and Buzaglo. I would classify in a different group: sprinters. Meaning that in a short space they manage to reach a high speed, but i wouldn´t classify this as speedy players.

IMO you could add players like Yuval Avidor, Omer Peretz, Pini Balili (this would be my choice of some years ago for the fastest player). Certainly this was his best attribute.
I actually thought he was on the wrong sport, he should work for the 100m race
Never forget when we played Ireland for the 2006 WC and he had a chance for counter attack and he took the ball from midfield and managed to run in high speed until the line to give a goal kick to the Irish. He simply ran and ran and forgot he was an Israeli striker trying to give us valuable points

Ghadir´s main quality is his speed. He is a very fast player and he was important for Haifa in many games for the counterattack strategy or to open up defenses playing in the wings.
If well used, he is important tacticly speaking.

Yeah, actually the question here might be what do you consider speed and what attributes enter this classification.

Like I said, what you may consider as speed in Sahar I consider other thing, so it really depends, but based on my view of the word and from the list you mentioned I continue with Ghadir and Ben Haim as the fastest ones.

Sahar for me is the best striker we have. He has all attributes and is the best finisher.

Listen, it's Yuval Avidor by MILES !

I can agree Ghadir in Acceleration in the first 20 meters might pass him.

But, I mean really have you guys even noticed how fast Avidor is?, I mean I really think in 100m he's giving a huge fight to the top in Israel, no joke.

When people send him long balls, he literly sometimes outrun it and reach the place before he should.

You should pay attention and see i'm right.

I mentioned Avidor as a candidate. And I agree with you. If he improved his scoring ability he would have a spot in the NT.

It's not just his scoring ability.

Avidor is lacking stuff you teach 10 year olds.

Honestly his type of speed and like Shecter ball controll is a cheat.

Thats a world class player if you get both combined.

I remember I saw him against Andreas Beck from Germany u-21 if you know, and I mean that Beck is FAST, not Theo Wallcott but he's fast compared to europian level.

And Avidor just fly through him like Mipmip from the cartoon like 4-5 times that game.

If i'm not mistaken Shechter didn't play in those games, it was Avidor Toto Tamuz and either Ben Sahar/Gai Assulin/Maor Bouzaglo in both these matchs.

Shechter played in the qualifiers for the 2009 U-21 finals, Israel played Germany and tied 2-2. You can watch the game on the IFA's website.
