http://israelfootball.wordpress.com/...-than-assulin/

Do people agree that Ben Sahar is likely going to be better than Gai Assulin?

I don't. I think Assulin will be a better player. But my wish is that they both develop into World class players and bring glory to Israel.

they're both going to be stars.

I'd have to say Sahar but it's too hard to tell

Both are certainly a good future and will play alongside eachother in the senior team in short term, possibly in the next qualifiers (depending on the coach).

Sahar has a more striking role, has a better finishing, Asulin is more a playmaker with speed. Different styles, and play in different positions, so it is hard to compare.

But, what we could compare is the effectiveness on the pitch. And that is why my vote goes to Sahar.
IMO the Espanyol striker is our best forward, his finishing is incredible, his game vision aswell and despite looking skinny he has developed some strength. IMO, he will be more important for the Israeli NT than Asulin.

Israel always had two main problems: dead ball situations and finishing.

sahar would certainly help to solve one of our problems.

Asulin is a great player aswell. His style reminds Messi (not comparing them). If he could play to full potential Israel will certainly gain a lot in creativity and ability in midfield, but from what i have watched recently he hasn`t repeated many good games in the U-21. It is too early to charge anything, but Sahar has shown a lot of brilliance, Asulin still hasn`t convinced all the fans (and i hope he proves all his critics wrong).

i agree with berko, we finally have sahar and he's a real goal poacher.....as long as he matures it'll be great. Gai Assulin...sorry but up until now this guy is still just a kid, sahar has already moved up the ranks very fast and he proved to be a great player so i stand by him.

Yeah, Asulin is younger and still has something to prove, but the good news is that Sahar is also young despite his considerbale achievements in the NT and in club level.

That is why everyone is excited about his future.

also why the press is putting so much pressure on this young guy, they ned to learn that he's a kid and get of his back. The guy doesn't need the pressure and i think he showed that it pissed him off when he scored the 3 goals against bulgaria and yelled "write it down you sons of bitches" referring to his critics in the media.

Why isn't he starting for Espanyol?

He keeps being used as a substitute and gets 20 minutes at the end of the game.

Sahar floated from time to time.

Assuilin is good, but its all rumours about his future. The thing i dont like is that he doesnt take the NT or the U21 very seriously..... he isnt de ridder and he isnt a bigshot. He needs to prove himself and by doing so playing in the NT. We got many players and he needs to join up....not doing so would mean that he is useless..and he would not be taken seriously in Europe.

Ben Sahar may have been better for us in the NT in the WCQ 2010, but the way Kashtan played him out..he made him into nothing...scored some goals, but his talent was wasted in the crucial games vs. greece and latvia

Ben Sahar got the start today against Racing Santander but Espanyol still lost 4-0. Sahar was subbed out after 62 minutes.

At least he got a start...but it would've been great to see him get a goal so he could keep it

Espanyol is not a very good team, Ben would have been better off staying in Holland and going to a bigger team there.

Always complaining...
Ben Sahar is playing in, if not, one of the best leauges in the world in a team that is considered to have a large and fair fan base, with a new stadium and usually ends up in 4-8 place in La Liga.... you cant complain too much about him not getting minutes and seeing his team falter. Everyone has bad seasons....its better than playing or not playing in QPR or Twente...teams which he never made his mark and he never got exposed to the level of soccer that we wanted him too...

frankly speaking, if you want him to play, send him back to Hapoel Tel Aviv and have him play for glory in the UEFA cup

I would have wanted him to stay in Holland where young players get every opportunity to play.
