Who do you want Israel to play in a Friendly?

So since we have like......11 good solid months ahead of us from now til our next qualification for the Euro 2012 championship....i was thinking of the friendlies that Israel will have coming up. None are scheduled, but if you had a choice of a friendly, which national team(s) would you want Israel to play against. Of course, it wouldn't matter anyhow and once the groups have been made for the WC more nations will be knocking on our door...but for the meantime...who would you pick?

I'd like Israel to play:

1) Czech Republic
2) Slovakia
3) Australia
4) Ecuador or Argentina

Would be good for Israel to come to the US to play here. I am sure there would be some Jews interested in coming out to see it just as many come out to see Maccabi Tel Aviv play the New York Knicks (basketball).

I'd also like to see Israel get tested against East European countries that joined the UEFA only after the fall of the Soviet Union, such as Ukraine and Belarus.

Israel joined the UEFA around the same time, so it would be a good chance to gauge Israel's progress.

I wonder if they could organize a small tournament like the Spartak Cup (hockey), but for NTs rather than individual clubs.

Israel, Ukraine, Slovakia, Romania, a few others from the second and third pot could participate.

If i am not mistaken Israel has already scheduled frinadlies against Northern Ireland and Hungary (yes the same opponents from this year, only that the venues will change).

I guess friendlies against teams like Uruguay, USA, Japan which let´s say always manage to be in the WC and aren´t really way ahead of us would be intresting.
In Europe, we already had many friendlies against East European side, i would like to see some games against Belgium, Turkey or Serbia for example. WOuld be intresting tests for us.

And of course games against the big countries of football are always welcomed.

Not a good time to play Turkey.

Belgium is a good chance, because they arent in the same form as they have been since 2000-2002. So they are a test for us.

Sucks that we have to play Hungary and Northern Ireland again. I was hoping that we play some more akward sides rather then the same old nations.

USA is a good chance, not only because its Israel vs. USA which would get alot of attention just like Israeli teams get attention (Maccabi Tel Aviv B.C) but also because it will bring many fans as well. This would definately pack Jets/Giants stadium or Citi Stadium if its a go.

Other teams that I want Israel to play against would be Nigeria, South Africa, Australia and Uruguay.

Serbia is too strong now-a-days.....

Indeed Turkish-Israeli diplomacy has received a blow in the last month (or better saying since Erdogan made his speech against Israel in the Davos meeting in January) but historically we have good ties with them.
And IMO in footballing terms is a very good test for our NT.

Regarding Belgium, since the 2002 WC they have been changing and renewing their squad, the veteran guys we knew like Scifo, Vanderhague, Wilmots, Stalens, Deflandre are all gone and new (and good ) generation has come. They are still young and i believe they will give a hard time in the next qualifiers.

USA is a nice test. For obvious merchandising issues, but also in terms of testing. They have developed a lot and have produced very good results despite playing in a weaker confederation. Just watch their games against top teams (in the WC they drew Italy, in the last confederations cup beat in form Spain and almost beat Brazil in the final).

As for Serbia, yes they are in a very good moment, actually they have been for a long time (the 2006 WC when righ before the competition they were oblied to have Montenegro as an independent state made them very unfocused for the tournament). They stayed ahead of France and will be a tough team in the next WC. And we should play them, weren´t you guys asking for stronger teams?

The question now is, what is the case to play Israel? I mean.... we are always snubbed wherever we go and play..... China would rather play Hungary than us!

Well i don´t see Hungary as a weak team. Actually they were in the thoughest group of the qualifiers IMO together with Portugal, Denmark, Sweden as contenders and they managed good displays.

But we have many teams that would play us, is just simple that our IFA doesn`t move too fast, they end up worrying with internal political problems.:rollani:

Playing us, especially at another countries home is hard because you have to agree with Israels security requirements which is basically like running the stadium and the whole area by Israeli security.

Has been done!

I also want to play Italy, because i'm fearing that one day we will have them in this Euro or future WC qualifications.

I wouldn´t doubt FIFA would make a proposal for this game in name of the peace process.:rollani:

Well in the past when Iran has diplomatic ties with Israel in the times of Reza Pahlevi they played against each other.
