Israel vs Ivory Coast

Kashtan has called the squad to play in the 19th in Ramat Gan against Ivory Coast. This is the first of the two friendlies Israel will have before the vital Greece clash in March.

In this call up almost the same team that has played in the qualifiers. Amit Ben Shushan has been left out and Yaniv Katan despite good form hasn´t been considered by the staff. The surprise comes from Hapoel Tel Aviv midfielder Avihai Yadin.

Full Squad:

Keepers:

Dudu Aouate (La Coruña)
Liran Strauber (Maccabi Netanya)

Defenders:

Tal Ben Haim (Manchester City)
Klemi Saban (Maccabi Netanya)
Dedi Ben Dayan (Maccabi Netanya)
Yoav Ziv (Beitar Jerusalem)
Dekel Keinan (Maccabi Haifa)
Avi Strul (Lokeren)

Midfielders:

Yossi Benayoun (Liverpool)
Gal Alberman (Borussia Monchengladbach)
Aviram Baruchyan (Beitar Jerusalem)
Biram Kiyal (Maccabi Haifa)
Avihai Yadin (Hapoel Tel Aviv)
Salim Toama (Standard Liege)
Maor Buzaglo (Maccabi Tel Aviv)

Forwards:

Omer Golan (Lokeren)
Elyaniv Barda (Genk)
Itay Shechter (Maccabi Netanya)
Roberto Collauti (Borussia Monchengladbach)

Thoughts about the call up??

Just to mention that Didier Drogba has been confirmed to play the game and will come to Israel.

Should be a cracker, and Ivory Coast is a great preparation game, a friendly which is really useful to learn and progress. Does livetv.ru stream the game like they did against Luxembourg and Latvia?

No coach will ever please 100% of the fans.

Currently i believe that players like David Revivo who is for now the player with most assists in the league, 7, and Shimon Abuhatzira the goalscorer of the league 9 goals until now should deserve a chance. Instead Avihai Yadin was called. Ben Sahar should be in the squad, the problem is he is not playing at portsmouth and he recently expressed publicly his will to leave in January.
Tamuz i have my doubts, he is a great player with enormous potential, but in the NT he hasn't convinced me. For example Omer Golan who IMO in the beggining of the campaign i thought was a mistake calling has showed me otherwise.

Yea Abu-Hatzira should've been called up, Kashtan makes alot of baffling callups, Toama shouldnt be called up, he wasnt even on the bench for Standard today.

If Baruchyan doesn't play it's clear that Kashtan dislikes him.. he's been 1 class above all the league for some time now, and never even get in as a sub..

Agree. Baruchyan should be a starter. Him together with Alberman in midfield feeding Benayoun would be great.

Im having a bad feeling about this game....

Israel is winning on two goals to one. Golan and Barda both scored on nice counterattacking goals. Cote D'Ivoire have dominated possession, they seem to run off the ball better. Kiyal has committed alot of dumb fouls, Toama has been invisible, I think Kashtan gets told to put them on the team by the politicians, Buzaglo is a better player than Toama, and Bruchian is alot better than Kiyal.

Agree with you. Baruchyan and Buzaglo are better than Kiyal and Toama respectively. Maybe about Toama, he could be kept because of set pieces, but Kiyal ia no way a starter.

We had a nice game, especially in the first half, nice goals from Golan and Barda with the intelligence of Benayoun behind the goals. Good to see them scoring.
In attack we are doing well, in defense we still have to fix somethings, but Ben Haim did a good job today, hope he keeps it up against Greece in March.
