Daniel de Ridder

Anyone have any update on him?Any chance he can still play for Israel? Would Israel even call him up if they could?

I must admit I don't know the player very well, but does he have Israeli citizenship? This is pivotal, unless he is of jewish ancestry and could claim an Israeli passport by making aliyah.

Playing for U21 means nothing, as long as you have no A Cap you can make the chance as long as you do it before you turn... 23 I believe?

He should opt for Israel where he would be a regular in the first team!

By the way, I am jealous of people like that... I would really love to emigrate to Israel, it is such an incredibly beautiful place. But each time those stupid visa restrictions stand in my way If only I had some jewish grandmother or so, then I could make aliyah. I once asked for a loophole in the law but the answer was that I should just look for an Israeli girlfriend. But where am I going to meet that girl? In Israel obviously, but therefor I need that visa first! I somewhat understand the laws and their origin, it is just a shame that it is so hard to relocate for people who are not jewish but just have a deep fascination for Israel as a country.

Oh well, sorry for going off-topic. Let's stick to football and to Israel. El el Israel!

He had a contract with Celta Vigo, but not sure if he was loaned to some other club. De Ridder speaks hebrew fluently and was offered to become Israeli citizen.
