The meeting was held today, but the representatives of Greece and Latvia didn´t agree in some round where one of the NT´s would play 3 matches away from home apparently. If the deal is not solved by tommorow FIFA will make an intervention and make a neutral draw. This option is not so unlikely to happen. From the first sketch, Israel would play Greece on March 28th 2009 and would visit them on October 10. Against Switzerladn we would visit them at April 1st 2009 and and host them apprently on our last game at Ramat Gan on October 14th.

So technically we would have both the first games in Israel against the big powers of Greece and Switzerland

Or was it 2009 or 2008? Just after Euro?

we would play the big teams from the group only in 2009. But forget about it, Greek and Latvian representatives couldn´t reach an agreement and the FIFA will make the draw.

I heard that it was the Moldovians that flipped on the idea...

If we have Greece first, it would be good. Than Switzerland is ok in either or...

but i guess Moldova wants first game at home? why?
I dont know...

What i read in the media is that Latvia and Greece didn´t agree much with the schedule, especially Greece who apparently would play their first three matches away. If they would please Greece than the task would go to Latvia.

Hmmm, i would want to play Greece away first game and Switzerland at home and then play like Greece at home in March and Switzerland away in April ... that would be good...

As for Moldova..
I dont know... Im freaked otu about them...
i had a dream, after the dream i had with 15 beautiful ladies in the middle of a tropical island...that Moldova would be the main factor for us making the group or not.....

they have the idea like Cyprus-Macedonia type where they fight and fight till the end' they do!

I think you should too.... You guys underestimate them like people in Greece and Germany underestimate Israel.
So yea, i do have a bad experience with them

We played Moldova 3 times in their 18 year history since they created a modern Moldovan state in 1990.

We won them once!!!
And we lost both games....

So yea, maybe you should reconsider those romanian-ukrainian wannabee's before taking them like ur Spain and their Israel...

Kappa, Israel never lost to Moldova. It was one victory and two draws. We faced Macedonia which is stronger IMO and we managed two good victories.
But i agree we should play seriously in every match and not underestimate any NT.

My bad...
but i just have this crazy feeling that they are going to mess us up somehow. They have a good team and they are capable of managing the ball and reducing our chances of making good passes and goals in the end...

i dont wanna be the better team come Moldova, be good in the pitch and then realize its 82nd minute and the score is nil nil!

FIFA is going to decide the schedule. I don't know the date, but it should be soon.

Well now we depend on a lucky draw, we are almost sure to go to the last round fighting for a spot and we will probably fight with Switzerland for that and i hope the last meeting takes place in Tel Aviv.

I hope that we wont fight with just Switzerland but Greece too.
My wish is that we play Greece first.
WHat happens in Euro will affect them and playing them first will make them reconsider their lineup!

I agree with you, i believe the fight for first spot will be a three horse race, but Greece having a strong team, maybe individually we don´t stand too much behind, but as a team they are ahead and that could make a difference for them. As we posted in the thread regarding the draw, Israel was happy to have Greece and the other way around. From pot 1, it was against greece that we have a slight chance in beating and advancing.

The best thing of course is to qualify in first place in which we guarantee a spot in the WC automatically.
Second place is second chance to qualify, but the perspective of facing an easy opponent is really low. Analysing other groups we could face tough teams like Sweden or Portugal, Turkey, Croatia or England, Serbia or Romania. We need to go step by step and every game must be like the last one, like this we will keep our players focused.

I think we can do good.
Im still expecting us to tie Greece and say if Greece tied early one of the easy teams than we can have a good shot to make 1st...
