WC 2018: In Israel?!?!?!?!

Well, Well......

there is an organization that is looking to have the 2018 World Cup in Israel and the Palestinian Territories.
This is very big words, never heard of it. Nor have I seen any advertisement for it. I youtubed (yes youtubed) and found a video about it. I think this is an amature group that is looking to get some attention, although you never know how far it will take....

Here is the link:

Hm, interesting idea. Is it too late to book a hotel room?

La Juve? Lasciamo perdere.

It would be interesting and if Palestine and Israel could pull it off together it would be a sign of corporation and peace watched by the entire world. However, has this organisation thought of who is going to offer stadiums? Apart from Ramat Gan not a single stadium has enough capacity to host a world cup game. But it would be cool if it'd happen.

In the website it had a couple of stadiums and their designs.
They are talking big!! And out of nowhere. Like in Mitzpe Ramon which is close to Beer Sheva. How in the world would u have a stadium there?!?!?

Its really odd to think of it...buti guess its intresting.....

They want Gaza to host, Tel Aviv, Jerusalem, Tulkarem, Ramallah, Haifa, Mitzpe Ramon and i think another city....

sounds a bit un real...

The problem is we would make stadiums for the WC is that we have a small population and after the WC it wouldn´t be so useful. The clubs won´t need a giant stadium if they have an average attendance of 8,000 fans per game. And the maintainence would be big aswell.

There is a push right now to have new stadiums. Just looking at it, Petach Tikva wants one, Netanya is under construction, Haifa is going to get one.... Ramat Gan needs to be renovated, Jerusalem wants to be expanded..... and what a few more around Tel Aviv area...
isnt that good?

Gaza ?? Has that crater in their current stadium been fixed yet?

Anyway, I think it'd be a bit waste of money. My native country Belgium is also keen on hosting the WC 2018 but what is going to happen with those giant stadiums afterwards? If you expand stadiums with tax money and see the stadiums properly used for only one month... I'd say there are wiser ways to spend that money. Unless the Israeli FA considers the World Cup a great way to boost tourism in Israel...

Im not sure about the crater, but it was in a stadium near Gaza. In Israel's side....

I think we would use it, but like i said...there is alot of elements to talk about....they want to put a stadium in the middle of a dessert? For who? for a few camels?

Regardless of WC or not..there is a drastic move to make alot of professional style stadiums in Israel. Israel wants to host something and by something i mean anything between UEFA/CL final, Euro, World Cup and even the Olympics...they want something!

i think they need to build a new national stadium, not renovate it.
Build a 5-star UEFA stadium and for sure Israel will host the champions league or UEFA cup final soon after its built.

Maybe a 60 - 70,000 seat stadium, that would be nice

Too much seats IMO, maybe a 50,000 because it is too much for us. Even the NT games the stadium wouldn´t be completely full with 70,000 seats.

Oh I agree 100% they wouldnt sell out an NT game with 60,000 seats.
I think they should put in 60,000 so Israel would have a better chance to host UEFA cup or Champions League finals and when Israeli teams make it to champions league, they can play the games there where their might be close to a sell out if a big team like Madrid, Barcelona or Man United come to play.

a modern 55k in the tel aviv area is enough for the israeli NT , IMO they should built more 25k- 40k stadiums for teams like Mac. Haifa , Tel Aviv teams and beitar jerusalem.

In an age of electronics, computers and videos...
i dont see why we even need stadiums. Just have a field and a camera...

but in reality, it doesnt really matter if its 45 or 75,000..... it there is a game, there is. Ofcourse maybe only 30,000 fans will come to the game vs. Macedonia, but we always have to keep it...plus for many matches, even UEFA cup related...security might have to take the first few rows for security!
