Dudu Awat

Probably strange for someone not from Israel, but Dudu Awat is one of my favourite players in the world. I am an amateur goalkeeper myself so I always pay special attention to goalkeepers. Dudu has charisma, great play on both aerial balls and shots, excellent position play...

Here is a video with some great saves by Dudu. Unfortunately it is only made up of Deportivo La Coruna games, but I think a topic especially about Awat suits better in the Israel forum. Here is the film: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=57l0WzqMfDA

He is indeed one of the best goalie Israel ever had, and probably one of the best keepers in the world. The main problem is that he plays in a team (Depor) which lost their strength in the last years and he really should go to another team (with all respect to Depor)

Dudu told in an interview that he thinks Depor will grow and can become a top team, and that he wants to be part of that growth. I must say I respect him for his determination while he could easily leave for a much bigger club. He also says his wife and children feel very well in La Coruna and that this is another reason why he likes to stay at Deportivo.

Great goalkeeper, one of the best in Europe without any doubt. And very charismatic as well.

Definitely Awat is a great keeper. Since his time at Hapoel Haifa, in the beggining of his career he showed a lot of potential and like crackedpleasures says a lot charisma. He is tall, has a very good agility and reflexing. In the smmer it was rumoured he could have moved to Bayern München, don´t know if you guys remember that. But you guys say Deportivo is small, but if he went to a bigger club he would have to fight for position and maybe be benched, at La Coruńa at least he is a starter and respected.

We will miss him in this game against Croatia.

he should not have missed that game vs Croatia. That yellow card in England was a farce. the goal should have been disallowed even as Awat was clearly held back by the English striker.

There were rumours about Awat going to Barcelona as well. But as I said, he believes Deportivo can grow to become a big team and his family apparently feels very good in la Coruna. Guess Dudu will stay at Depor for at least a few more seasons, but you gotta respect him for not just throwing himself at any random offer from a big club. At Deportivo he is the certain number 1 and it is nice to see a player showing patience and looking to non-football issues as well when making choices such as "where am I going to live and play".

Dudu will make his 124th appearance.

The current record has been remarked by Haim Revivo from Celta (124)

124th in the Israeli NT? Are you sure? Because Awat is only 29 so it would be weird to have 124 caps already while your career is not even close to being over.

Why is Awat not playing versus Belarus in the friendly?

i believe 124 game n the Spanish league, for the NT, Awat has 30 games with the NT, Davidovich 46 and Strauber 6.

I believe Awat was already ruled out of due to suspension and he wouldn´t make a trip to Israel only to play 45 minutes.
