Squad for the qualifyers.

Nt coach Dror Kashtan has called today the squad to face England and Estonia in the end of March for the Euro 2008 qualifyers.

Keepers: Dudu Awat - Deportivo La Coruna
Nir Davidovich - Maccabi Haifa
Shavit Elimelech - Hapoel Tel Aviv

Defenders - Shimon Guershon - Beitar Jerusalem
Tomer Ben Yosef - Beitar Jerusalem
Arik Benado - Beitar Jerusalem
Yoav Ziv - Beitar Jerusalem
Yuval Shpungin - Maccabi Tel Aviv
Yigal Antebi - Hapoel Tel Aviv
Dani Bonder - Hapoel Tel Aviv
Tal Ben Haim - Bolton

Midfielders-
Yossi Benayoun - West Ham
Walid Badir - Hapoel Tel Aviv
Salim Tuama - Hapoel Tel Aviv
Gal Alberman - Beitar Jerusalem
Idan Tal - Bolton

Attackers-
Yaniv Katan - Maccabi Haifa
Elyaniv Barda - Hapoel Tel Aviv
Amit Ben Shushan - Beitar Jerusalem
Toto Tamuz - Beitar Jerusalem
Omer Golan - Maccabi Petah Tikva
Pini Balili - Sivaspor
Ben Sahar - Chelsea

Surprises are the call ups of Dani Bonder of Hapoel Tel Aviv. Kashtan left out Michael Zandberg and Roberto Collauti.

where is dekel keinan ? or is bonder better than keinan ?
why antebi and not harazi ?

ben sahar ? he didn't play for the senior chelsea team since the last game against ukraine so he should play for the U21 team and not for the seniors.

Keinan won't be called up after that screw up against Beitar. Zandberg not being called up is also a bit depressing but the media says Kashtan is looking to get back at him for not playing last time due to his "injury" Kashtan made a good call on the keepers and not so bad on defense. We have so many options up front that its confusing and very competative. Kashtan knows what he's doing so I trust he'll make the necessary substitutions if some players are in bad form. Once guy I really don't think should be there is Golan.....I'd rather see a talented youngster then him because he's really useless.

I agree that Rafaelov and Shecter should be givien a chance and called up, atleast against Estonia. Both are extremely talented and can reallly produce something. Itay Shechter is a guy who is really not given enough attention.

Rafaelov no doubt about that. He has potential to be in the squad. If Shechter played in one of the big clubs he would have a chance to be called up, but we have so much talent upfront that it makes it difficult. See we still had Shlomi Arbeitman who was left out. Zandberg´s absence, like Gal said, is a policy from Kashtan to discipline the players, he did the same to Katan in the past. About Bonder and Antebi, they probably won´t start, but it was a surprising call nevertheless.

From the players called up i would field this team:

Aoute; Shpungin, Guershon, Ben Haim, Ziv; Alberman, Idan Tal, Katan, Benayoun; Tamuz, Ben Sahar.

What do you guys think?

Yea Tal can't play, but I'd like to see Ziv in defense. He's a smart defender and he's not scared to go up and help the attack, we see this when he plays for Beitar and he still manages to run back for defense.

Well if Tal is suspended then Kashtan called up very few midfielders considering that Benayoun isn´t 100% fit. Unless he makes some surprises like Ziv in midfield or Katan as a playmaker.

Anyways, Steve McLaren called England squad today.

Keepers:
Paul Robinson
Foster
Carson

Defenders
Gary Neville
Phil Neville
Rio Ferdinand
John Terry
Jonathan Woodgate
Ashley Cole
Carragher

Midfielders
Steven Gerard
Frank Lampard
Owen Hargreaves
Aaron Lenon
Scott Parker
Carrick
Dyer
Downing

Forwards
Wayne Rooney
Johnson
DeFoe
Bent

....well its England and the squad speaks for itself

This won't be easy with guys like Johnson and Rooney up front. Not to mention that the midfield is very strong. I was hoping Terry wouldn't play but if he is then its going to be very hard for our fowards.

we always go through this.....he'll play

By the way all the strikers called up to the NT for England played very well and its bad news for us.....not to mention their goalie will be confident after scoring a retarded goal
