Israel to play Ukraine in friendly

Israel-Ukraine
Ramat-Gan Stadium
Tel-Aviv, Israel
February 7, 2007

Hopefully, they'll put on a better defensive display and produce a similar offensive perfomance. They really need a win here to boost their morale before playing England. We all that Israel must beat England now after "The Disaster". NO EXCUSES...

i agree, and I think Ukraine is the type of team to play. They are good, but we can beat them and if we do it'll stir up alot of confidence for us

5 defenders?! Kasthan please......this is insanity. We have one striker up front, who is vey talented but lets not forget that he's young and inexperienced. Atleast have a guy next to him.....Balili? I'd rather see a 4-4-2, Sahar can't do it all alone

Not 5 defenders. Israel will play on a 4-4-2 formation.

Awat the keeper. Shpungin as right back, Ben Haim and Guershon as defenders and Yoav Ziv as left back. Arik Benado will play as a defensive midfielder alongside Badir while Benayoun and Tuama will be the playmakers feeding Ben Sahar and Ben Shushan upfront. Intresting formation, curious to see how Benado will play in that position that Ardilles put him in Beitar.

Hey Roman where did you find the links??

What do you think your chances are against England without Tal and Collauti? As a Croat I really hope you win, but you'll have to improve since your game with us in November.

The first half was the best one from an Israeli NT side for a long time. Really enjoyed the cooperation between Sahar, Ben Shushan and Shpungin, the 3 kids were great tonight IMO. Also Ziv, Benado, Gershon and Awat had fantastic displays. The second half was crap, we were non existant. Too bad about the bad penalty we gave them, if we would've kept playing like we did in the first half, this was a game we needed to win, but since we didn't, a draw is a fair result. I hope we'll see more of the same against England.

Good luck against England then and I hope they young players do the job. That Tamuz guy looked good against us when he came on and also Ben Shushan.

Tal is essential, but Colautti has not been in the best of forms. I think that if we get one of our young lethal strikers to play, toto tamuz (not playing due to citizenship problems) then we can really threaten england. Its based on calling up the right players because the manager knows what he's doing. We'll need to play offensive but also manage to run back and defend strong, and I assume that the English are in much better shape so it won't be easy for the Israelis. As an Israeli i'd really prefer to have an upset and see Croatia and Israel get on top of this group

I really have nothing against badir, but I wish one of our young guys would have scored, I don't know how he was this game, but I personally think that aside from this goal he should no longer be called up. He wasn't playing very well in our Euro qualifiers so far and his performance in the league is nothing close to good, along with his atitude.

both of those would be nice, but considering Kasthan's disappointing lack of involvment in arranging friendlies or consulting the IFA for some I really doubt it.

Grant brought strickness... a thing where people would appreciate to play for the NT, even with rewards and bonuses.... He wanted practices and alot of involvment for the players..

Kashtan is the same, but with a name, and nothing more....

Frinedliess after the Intifhada 2.0 and 9/11 is very hard to do. Alot of teams simply dont wanna play. I remember that we could have had 10 friendlies a year or a term (from january - september) but today, no one seems to do it. Cost alot and would have alot of security....
