Sahar and Shevchenko teaming up!

And score both in a Chavksi reserves win... http://www.chelseafc.com/article.asp...again&nav=news

This must've been great for Ben linking up with someone like Sheva

can those of you who support these youngsters coming back to serve in the army say the same after reading this? He's finally earning some credit at Chelsea and playing with Sheva!! You think anyone will remember him 3 years from now? Players like him and guy asuilin need to stay in Europe...there must be exceptions

this is absurd for you to say, forget about a chelski sahar jersey, there wont be one if he has to come back to serve.let him stay there, play for chelsea, do something for the country in Israel, and develop his career.

maybe abramovich should step up and donate another couple of millions to the state of Israel in order to let Sahar stay

I agree. He must be given an exemption. Having him return to Israel and to serve in the army will be wasting his talent.

Im a libertarian. My philosophy is to let people do what they want. And that should be applied to this case.

i am going to be recruited to the army next november and i will probably be in a combat unit (kravi). although hes a great player and i am a big fan of him, i cant say i would be too happy working my ass off 3 years for the country while he plays football abroad. but thats just me...

Its a simple subject...
and somehow alot of people on this forum seem to think that soccer comes before security somehow....

If we give up on soccer why not give up on something else....
if everyone raises there hand and says they are good in something..soccer scinece, medicine, art etc....
than in the end we will have a depleted army....

Benayoun did good...what was keeping him?
like i said...3 months in, 3 months out was a good idea....
especially if they are israelis living abroad...

So Kappa, we can expect you to be on the next plain to join?

What he's gonna do in the army? Come to some hole at 9 open some sprinklers and head back home at 11? :rollani:
It would be a waste not only of his career but also of 300 NIS that he will get every month

you work your ass of from a young age, move from your home country at a young age just to play football, and then tell me if its fair for him to have to come back after all the hard work he's put into this. Football is physically demanding, and at that age it is mentally demanding. Especially when he moves away from his family and friends just to pursue a career. Now that he finally settled himself i don't think its necessary to have him come back

your a crazy...thats wayyy too extreme. Who said we'll make exceptions for science, art, medicine, etc. We're just talking bout football. Not even basketball!! just football...like the other pointed out he'll just be a waste, why is it worth ruining his career and wasting three years of his most valuable years?

It is a delicate situation here, Ben Sahar would do well in Europe if he stays in Chelsea, but if we open an exception to him then there will be more complainings and more people wanting exceptions and would be a mess. I'm with Kappa and Hapoel fan on this one.

It's exactly the same situation that exists today...

But do you understand that we are a country first...and that we are very vulnberable to many things.... just look at any given terror attack.the nation is in mourning.....

You cant say yes to Football and no to basketball, art, science, medicine exemptions....

look..easy and straigt....
if he wants to be a superstar...then by all means...go to spain or england...let him get a citizenship there...and let him join the Spain/England NT and so he wont ruin his talent between ages 18-21...

thats THE ONLY SOLUTION i can give you..

this is getting to the point where you want someone to skip something important in Israeli society for the sake of soccer.
why doesnt the next prodigy in 20 years skip his birth and bar mitzva and get in the pitch....as a fetus
