U-21 Euro 2007 draw: France

Guy Levi's U21 side is one of 14 teams to compete in a qualification playoff for the U21 European Championship. Matches will be held on 7/8 and 10/11 of October, hopefully we will regain our homesoil advantage by than. The 7 winners will advance to the European Championship and if I'm not mistaken also a place in the Olympic games of 2008.

Israel U-21 will be drawn against one of the following teams tomorrow:

Portugal, Italy, France, Germany, Serbia, Czech Republic or Belgium.

On paper it looks like the last three are the least worst options. The others seem too hard to cope with.

"Stop and stare...I think I'm moving but I go nowhere...."

- Israeli Double Winners! League and State Cup Winners 2007/2008!

- 2006/2007 League Champions!

we'll need some luck, non the less i'm happy that we reached this far....hopefully they can keep up the wins. U-21 plays with no fear no matter who the opponent is so i'm always happy to see their results.

no so fast.....israel showed they are more than up to the level of france beating them 3-2 in the previous qualifiers and losing 1-0 away on a penalty shot

oh thats right, i forgot that they played very well in the qualifiers it was actually extremely unfortunate for our u-21. Yea i remember they beat France 3-2 and out senior team tied. The future senior NT will be even stronger then now. Look at the players which have been just knocked up to the senior squad from out U-21, in only 2 euro 2008 qualifiers they have managed to make a huge effect.

Well France it is, not a good draw, but we beat them last year remember.

Somehow they will always get in our way, whenever there is an official competition.

Israel and France......why is it that we always end up with France at some point. I really have nothing against France....i'm a french citizen, yet it doesn't mean too much to me.....but i have nothing against the french, just hope our u-21 can beat them, One made an article about France u-21 team.....looks like we're screwed.

for me its just the EU passport, wouldn't matter if it was Italian or French for me. I'd prefer an Italian...just because Italians are awesome, but i don't mind the french and if i decide to go open a clinic in Europe I don't believe i'll have much problems.

I watched Chelsea's reserve play the other day and was very impressed with Ben Sahar. I didnt even know he was Israeli until I heard his interview at the end of the match (thought he was French). He seems like another Rooney almost, very strong physique, great ball handling skills, good passing ability and nice shot. If he keeps developing he'll probably be a great forward in the future, maybe the best Israel ever had. Is he at least on Israel U-21 team?

wow good to hear, where did you watch the reserve team play? Anyways i know he has a polish passport so its not a problem for him to reach big european clubs. But he'll probably end up coming back to Israel for service which will ruin him......atleast we'll have a good striker in the future.
