Katzav: Why Badir and Tuama yes and Magrashvili no?

Player agent Ronen Katzav spiced up our football cenario today with this declaration. He mentioned that his player Haim Magralshvili is not called up to the NT because he didn't complete the army service and argues that Badir and Tuama for obvious reasons didn't do so and this isn't fair and there should be a criteria. This issue has already reached players like Yigal Antebi and LIor Asulin who in the past didn't complete army service.

What do you guys think about that?

i think its bullshit, Badir and Tuama want to be treated equally at the NT then they need to do equal work. Why should a talented player like Asulin or Megrashvili have to wait for army service while both Tuama and Badir haven't.

I agree. If you want to have in the NT they at least should do some community service. Katzav also complained that Collauti didn't serve the army and now he is eligible to play.

Is sport the only area in Israel where one who has an unfulfilled army requirement is not eligible to participate in a profit-making (at least indirectly) activity while those who are exempt from the army are eligible? It just seems that by raising this point we will get away from sticking to football talk really quickly.

that is a different matter, not because he's a haifa player and i'll stick up for him, but because he didn't grow up in Israel. He came at an age when regular Israelis would be done with their service. Maybe he should do some sort of community service as you say, but for Badir and Tuama.....they grew up in Israel, play for our NT, yet don't serve in the army....i just don't think we should have different standards for them

Magrashvili is average and not national team material .
when he is good enough he will play also in the NT, but i think our new best left defender is yoav ziv, he impressed me yesterday he is a real fighter !

BTW katzav knows that badir and tuama can't do the military service so why he complains about them? but magrashvili can but he didn't want to do it .

Why he can't finish a service as a exceptional sportsman? Is that too hard for him? :rollani:

It's one thing when the army won't recruit you. But when the army recruits you with extremely easy service terms, it's says something about the person.

Who the hell is Magrashvilli? In the game against Liverpool he made a complete fool of himself. Definitely not national team material. Badir and Tuama are much better than him. Katzav is just a typical cynical agent trying to make a bit of money. Not worth wasting a minute on.

Do you say that because they are arab players ???
When badir scored against France and Suan against Ireland, they were no more arab but just israelis....
Tuama is a really good player i think, badir sucks...

Where is Megashrili from ??

I have to agree that this rule is dumb. Not everyone did their military service, everyone have their own different reasons. For example Lior Asulin's father had a serious illness, and Lior had to work in order to support the family. The fact Badir and Tuama are arabs mean nothing to me, if they didn't serve in the army then I can accept this, however, at the same time, I think it's only fair that this low won't be so harsh on Israelis. Many known artists have escaped the army and nothing has ever been done to them, like Maya Buskila the stupid singer who claims that she is avoiding the army due to religious reasons (does she look religious to you ? ), and so on and they're not suffering the consequences at all, what's good for one is good for all.

But Magerlashivilli is not a national team material, and yes Katzav is just some agent that doesn't deserve much attention even for one bit...

Yes i agree that Magrashvili is not NT material, but we should see this rule for future players that could be called for our NT. Nothing against the arab players they contributed with us, Badir specially he has a lot of caps, but there should be a fair criteria.

i agree, not saying they should to army service but i want some sort of community service. Why should these young guys have to serve in order to play in the NT and Badir and Tuama don't have to do anything..i think they need to and like berko said we need a fair criteria.

I thought you ment all the sportsmans...

It's one thing to not volunteer and other thing when you make charades to psychologist so you can evade the service.
