Zeev Haimovich

Side Backs:
Adoram Keisi
Haim Mageralshvili

Omri Afek

Midfielders:
Idan Tal
Gal Alberman

Goalkeepers:
Dudu Awat
Tom Almadon
Liran Strauber

I think Liran did a good job this season, but im not sure aobut him having a start or being the 2nd backup keeper. Dudu is impressive ofocurse, but as well, we need to make alot of space for the young..since Israel is lacking at that..so Almadon should be 2nd keeper and pending on how well Shrutber does in Netanya, than he can be 2nd, sometimes 1st for easy games (estonia, macedonia, Andorra.....)

Defenders:
Tal Ben Haim
Shimon Guershon
Arik Benado
Tomer Ben Yosef
Avi Yehiel
Dekel Keinan
Zeev Haimovich

Haimovich is new...i dont know about him...As well as Ben yosef..but the others look ok.... Yehiel...he's like Ben Luz in some form or another..

Side Backs:
Adoram Keisi
Haim Mageralshvili
Klemi Saban
Omri Afek

I think that would do.... cant belive we are missing a couple..jeeze.... but this looks ok more or like it.. I like Mageralshvili..not cause of that long and idiotic gruzini name, bur because of his abilities...he needs some caps dammit

Midfielders:
Idan Tal
Gal Alberman
Yossi Shivhon
Michael Zandberg
Yossi Benayoun

Im too conservative! Maybe its me..i dont know if Maor Melikson and Bruchian should play right now in the Seniors... who knows... still too early to tell. Thank g-d for the friendly atleast

Strikers/Forwards:
Shlomi Arbeitman
Roberto Collauti
Toto Tamuz
Barak Itzhaki
Lior Asulin
Yaniv Katan

All look good, excet golan and arbeitman...they need to prove that they are wothy to play in Euro Qualifiers...

Overall, we have a good team im impressed.
Hopefully Collauti will do good

Goalies - no almadon, yes davidovic as back-up

almadon isnt experienced enough, and anyways id put ohad cohen ahead of almadon now anyways

almadon is israels goalie for the future in 3 or 4 years

i disagree with putting worse goalies for games against easy teams....each game is extremely importatn....best goalie should play....in this case dudu awate

defence:
no yehiel........fluke goal against ireland- but a great one
simply not good enough

no haimovich....hasnt overly impressed in the league...maybe in a few years

wait for keinan........still not ready

you can only call up a max of 26 to the squad

so four central defenders is enough

ben haim, gershon, benado, ben-yosef

right backs: afek saban (3rd choice: Haliva)
left: keisi gafni (3rd choice: Antebi)

mid:

cant leave out salim tuama....excellant player
i'd put in nimni
gili vermut
reuven oved
tamir cohen
david revivo

of course benayoun, shivhon, zandberg, tal, alberman

no melikson was very inconsistant last year
no baruchian..maybe in the future
neither start with beitar too

forwards

yaniv katan, roberto colautti, omer, shlomi, itzhaki (see how he does with beitar), m biton

soon.....omer peretz
toto tamuz isnt ready yet they need him at U21
hes still only 18
balili

assulin....needs to find a club first...then maybe

Here's my strongest line up, with 7 subs as permitted in UEFA qualifiers.

Israel NT:

--------------Yaniv Katan------Roberto Colautti----------------

---------------------Yossi Benayoun---------------------------
---------Idan Tal------------------------David Revivo*----------
---------------------Gal Alberman------------------------------

Keisi------------Gershon------------Ben-Haim-------Saban------

-------------------------Awate--------------------------------

*not for sure, zandberg, tuama, etc.

Subs:

Nir Davidovic
Michael Zandberg
Salim Tuama
Omri Afek
Omer Golan
Arik Benado
Gili Vermut

i agree with the strong line-up but on bench you have to have another striker or 2. Arbietman would be good for sub, and balili could be a good back-up, and if dror is smart he'll put balili in Benayoun's poisition and possibly put benayoun on wing.

So we looking to all these line ups we have plenty of options. We have hope for the future. Like it was mentioned, we have very talented young players that in a near future could be in the team. But some of them despite being young could join the squad. Remember Benayoun at an early age was already in the NT.

I agree with eli's team just that instead of David Revivo i would put someone like Oved, Zandberg ( even though he is a left winger, just move him to the left and Benayoun to the right) Melikson ( if he gets more consistant). Revivo is good, i believe he was top assist from Ligat Ha'Al last season, but i don't if he is in NT level. See Shai Holtsman, an impressive scoring record, every year he scores a lot of goals doesn't matter the club he is, but when he comes to the NT he doesn't produce.

why start with him though if he isn't the best goalie?

awate is much better now, therefore he should start

Yeah Awat is without a doubt the best Israeli keeper. He should start. Almadon has to come with time a bit more experience.

Almadon first needs to play at Haifa then maybe Kashtan will give him a chance. For now Awat is the king.....and that bastard Grant didn't use him.....he deserved to start! now grant can go do laundry work for Portsmouth

i agree Awat is the best keeper by far!! and since the beginning i was in favour for him. BUut don't forget Davidovich saved us sometimes specially in that away win in Cyprus where he blocked a penalty spot from Konstantinou.

Yeah i know you will tell me he fluked against the Faroe Islands

that would be stupid, lets not underestimate anyone. A team like Israel can't afford to underestimate anyone, they need to play Estonia like they are England and England like they're England......no screw ups. Unless we find us at the top of the table at a gauranteed qualification spot with 1 or 2 games remaining the we can consider starting Almadon, but i doubt that will happen and i don't want to take the risks.

Relevant news:

Kashtan will call up the Euro 2008 squad on Monday. I hope he did his research and I really hope we see some of the old names out and new talents in. If it were up to me i'd get rid of alot of old players, make a young captain like yossi, and bring in new players. But I'm also sure we need some experience on the pitch so we'll see waht Kashtan calls up

I agree. My guess is that the defensive players will be the most experienced ones, like Benado and Guershon still on the team together with Ben Haim, the fourth defender will be intresting to see who will he call. He will keep Idan Tal in midfield and from the offensive part it is unpredictable. There are many options and good young players. I'm curious to see this.

I agree with this as well, players like Tal, Benado, Gershon, etc. are not young but still fit to play and are in very good time. Yet, players like Keisi, Nimni, etc. should be gone.....

Yeah Keisi could play a season or two still, Nimni will probably retire this season. He is one the best Israeli players ever, his passing skill is still very good, but his time is the NT is gone already, he doesn't have the same speed and in defense he wouldn't make any effect.

What do you guys think about Yoav Ziv as an option for side back?

i like this team a lot

---------Colautti------Arbeitman------

--------------Benayoun---------
---Melickson-------------Zandberg------
--------------Alberman--------

Magralishvili---Gershon---Ben-Haim---Saban---

---------------Awate----------

Subs:
Davidovich
Keinan
Yehiel
Gafni
Afek
Shivhon
Katan

you have the extra of players like Afek that can play as a right winger in defence or a midfielder and katan that can play like a midfielder and a forward, this is the team for the euro
