Is Bulgaria or Croatia the oldest EE nation?

Both were founded around 900 A.D. Wikipedia lists Tsardom of Bulgaria at 913 A.D. and Croatia at 925 A.D. Poland came into being around 1000 A.D. as did Hungary.

I think that a 12 year difference, even if factual, makes it a wash.

Doesn't matter cause we fukn pwned them back in the day, 926. Old school.

The climax of the war was the Battle of the Bosnian Highlands that same year,[4] when Croatian forces under the command of King Tomislav completely defeated the Bulgarian forces under the command of Alogobotur, killing most of the Bulgarians in the battle. The Croatian victory was so decisive and the battle so big that contemporary sources greatly overestimated Croatia's Army at 160,000 men, with a slightly bigger force on the Bulgarian side.[5] This was the only battle Tsar Simeon ever lost.

Some context for the rampaging Bulgars:

Simeon overran Serbia in 924, destroyed it by tricking its nobility, and made it directly part of the Bulgarian Empire. Serbia's ruler Zaharija Pribislavljević fled and found exile at the Croatian court, while after the realm's destruction massive waves of Serb refugees fled and found refuge in Tomislav's Croatia.

King Tomislav should be a hero to the Serbs. Build a statue for him in Belgrade.

Bulgaria was founded way before 913 - the actual year is 681. 913 was when the Bulgarian monarch forced the Byzantines to acknowledge him as a Tsar.

Croatia is not an EE country, its a hybrid Central European / Balkan country. Slovenia and Hungary are both officially Central European, her next door neighbors. Mitteleuropa if you will.

no we don‘t will

Hungary is West Balkan, the Leitha the inofficial border creek between East and West. wherever the Türks extended their empire to, is Balkan

Österreich is Westerreich from our perspective

however, both are Danubia, but thats from Fekete Erdö to Fekete Tenger

Slovenia is just a slavic speaking Steiermark

Szovi, I dont know what you said there, but your historical geography is off. Most definately Hungary is Mittel Europa, so is Transylvania. First off Balkan countries are Orthodox, we are Catholic and Protestant (even in Erdely) and if you look at the political-historical maps, you can even say that Hungary is the last bastion or the first gate of the eastern-West.

wiki has no clue, its written by morons

ask szövi if you want to learn

Danubia is a term created by my boy Esterházy Péter and is spot on because ever since the existence of mankind, rivers have been the oldest settling places and carriers of civilization

Hungary is the heart of Yourop, the heart being on the left side of the body, or the right side from the perspective when you look at it, i.e the East if you look at a map

geographically, we‘re the Carpathian Bassin

the Leitha river is the border between Carpathian Bassin and the Alpine Region which Austria is part of

catholic/orthodox is irrelevant here, we have the same mentality as Balkans, not as Swiss and Austros

you‘re welcome
