Are Red Star and Dinamo destroying the Regional League myth?

First of all congrats to Red Star on an immense win in the CL

Now given that Serbian club football teams have done quiet well in Europe recently with the two Belgrade clubs playing past winter in the Europa League, and likewise in Croatia Dinamo's recent impressive EL group stage run and some good individual results by teams like Osijek and Rijeka I have to say I am reasonably pleased that the regional league myth that was pushed on this forum so much by the Pro-Yugo cultural marxists is starting to dissolve faster than salt on water.

Arguments put forward by myself and others was that in order to improve domestic football clubs were better off investing in improving facilities, club transfer policy, financis than to spend their time reviving some Yugonostalgic regional league hubris which would have confined big clubs like Red Star, Dinamo, Hajduk and Partizan into European Isolation.

I am glad that now Red Star has started to begun sorting themselvers out financially they are reaping the rewards in Europe and now that Mamic has left Dinamo they are finally becoming some sort of force in the Europea League with a decent CL group stage run coming for them next season if they keep this up. Then there are clubs like Radnicki, Osijek and Rijeka who could also qualify for Europe in the near future with some decent commitment to good transfer policy and cut down on corruption. All are decent clubs with up and coming talent.

I honestly think that if HNL teams keeps this up and Serbian Superliga maybe cuts down to a 12 team league there is a good chance that both leagues could reach the level of Ukranian maybe even to that of Holland.

Anyway to see the Yugonostalgic fascists and cultural marxists proved wrong on this forum with Red Star and Dinamo's recent run in Europe is one hell of an enjoyable experience

I think its easy to say dinamo is a #footballfactory.

its an assembly line of world class players that go onto huge clubs...and play for the powerful Croatian NT, a top 2 team in the world.

I say no to any regional league. Never again. Been there, done that.

Besides, we have bigger fish to fry. World power clubs like Real, Barca, Bayern, Man City, Man U, Juve and Dinamo Zagreb are looking to form a super league of sorts. Imagine games week in and week out amongst world football's elite?

If anything its an argument for the regional league, who can compete with two government backed clubs? Even Osijek sold they soul to their Hungarian overlords just to finish in the top 3 of the HNL while in return 'Willi' Orban gets his first taste of Greater Hungary.

Being serious I don't see HNL ever going beyond Eredivisie/Austrian BL/Swiss type leagues simply due to the population, finances and other factors. You realize outside of Hajduk, Rijeka and Osijek the average HNL match doesn't have more than 1,000 fans? Some games in the winter drew less than 100!

Ever since Volpi left Rijeka they have regressed, they no longer are so strong financially (for HNL standards they are but not as much as few years back). Majority of the HNL don't even pay their players on time, you had clubs like Cibalia and RNK Split pretty much go through the entire season without paying players yet they are still allowed to compete

HS is a slovenian leftist. His uninformed opinion on Croatian football or any football for that matter can't be considered as serious.

The Croatian board ignores him. Is just a little troll who went into hiding with each win in the WC. Curled up in the fetal position in his parents basement.

"well informed". thanks for the chuckle. Who could forget his infamous "gaurantee" that the Greeks would beat us in the playoff...and we gang raped them. The poor little guy was distraught and went into hiding. lol

He might know baseball inside out I'll give him that. He might know about tiddlywinks, but football he has no clue.

And which "homo" clubs are you talking about? I don't like Farca, but to call them "homo" is a bit too much. Messi's wife is a little cutie, he's no 'mo. And Rakitic's wife is a hotie as well. And while I hate Pique, Shakira is quality as well...None of these guys are

Now back to dinamo zagreb...football factory, the facts are undeniable.

All have Croatian players or coach, so by definition cannot be homo clubs. And be definition are committed to excellence as a result.

Arsenal and ManU, I can't argue with those clubs...pure mo clubs.

What's a wrong and Bosnia have yet to be represented by a club even in Europa League? These days I think it's only them and a couple of minnows like Andorra and Gibraltar, even Luxemburg are having a team for thes first time this year. And I'm not even talking about CL, a whole another story.

But in general Bosnia seem to under perform (?) in sports a lot, they have qualified only once in a major tournament in international football, doing better but still not anything spectacular in basketball and if I'm not mistaken they don't even field up teams in volleyball, remain medal-less in Olympics etc.

Perhaps someone could light me up, thanks in advance.

Dinamo in a good position to reach the quarter finals of the EL this season

Also due to Dinamo's performance in Europe the HNL will have 2 CL spots and 3 EL spots from 2020. Surely this has to be a record for a league with only 10 teams in it.

Oh and what was that Yugo-Nostalgists? I thought the Croatian League would never have a club reach the Europa league group stages without a Regional league being set up?

Totally agree. Also Croatia's WC final finally shut up the "Jugo škola nogometa" commies who reckon the only reason we came third in 98 was because of some mythical Yugo school which is inherently superior to the Croatian school and apparently world beating despite failing to qualify regularly. Forced to eat their own shit.

The funniest thing is, the diehard jugoleague enthusiasts think the problems in football will magically disappear when we throw 5 corrupt leagues into one.
