Czecho-Slovak League Project

http://futbal.sme.sk/c/5475403/veden...skej-lige.html

Quote:
Projekt spojenia najlepších českých a slovenských mužstiev do jednej ligy sa v sídle UEFA stretol s pochopením a podporu mu vyslovil dokonca aj šéf Európskej futbalovej únie UEFA Michel Platini.
Quote:
Spomenutí odborníci majú hotovú štúdiu o spoločnej česko-slovenskej futbalovej súťaži odovzdať v októbri alebo novembri 2010.
Quote:
Aj česká strana má v tomto procese trochu časový sklz, lebo predseda ligového zhromaždenia Miroslav Kříž, ktorý dostal na starosť všetku agendu okolo chystania spoločnej ligy, zmizol. Jeho úlohy prevzal generálny sekretár ČMFS Rudolf Řepka.
Quote:
V prípade ideálneho scenára by sa spoločná liga mohla začať najskôr o dva roky, čiže od sezóny 2012/2013. V premiérovom ročníku by v nej štartovalo spolu 18 mužstiev. Z ČR by ich bolo dvanásť, zo SR šesť. Česko by reprezentovali Sparta Praha, Jablonec, Ostrava, Teplice, Plzeň, Olomouc, Slavia Praha, Mladá Boleslav, Liberec, Příbram, Brno a Bohemians 1905, zo Slovenska by v novej súťaži hrali Žilina, Slovan Bratislava, Dukla Banská Bystrica, Nitra, Ružomberok a Senica.
Looking good

I posted latest update here

https://www.xtratime.org/forum/showpo...&postcount=668

however I forgott to translate it. To sum it up - UEFA (specifically Platini showed his support) agrees with the project and 2 experts will take a closer look into the project and they will give their report together with final project this October or November. Expectations in Czech and Slovak FA are that joint league should begin in 2012/2013 season with 12 clubs from Czech republic and 6 clubs from Slovakia.

I think Czecho-Slovakia league is a great idea. Players would get tougher games and it would help them to development. Also, Slovan Bratislava - Sparta Praha could be a great derby game

Platini already approved the idea and UEFA is positive about the project.

Baltic League
is Tournament, played paralelly with their national Leagues.

Czecho-Slovakia had a regular league since 1920s, although the first Slovak team qualified in late 1930s.

I remember games like this in 1992. Sparta Praha captain Jozef Chovanec (Slovakian born Sparta legend) was full of shit how Sparta rolls over Slovan and goes for 3-0 win. He was booed before the game, during the game, althoug with coming minutes boo birds were silenced by Sparta performance.

Sparta really won the game on Tehelne Pole 3-0. They completely owned us and after the game they got standing ovations of 43t heartbroken Slovan fans.

Is this going to be an official UEFA league replacing the Czech and Slovak first division with qualification spots for the European competitions?

If so, can anyone give me some more details? It's interesting?

Also, for example, how will the 2nd and 3rd level look like?

Yes, there will be 6 teams from Slovak league and 12 from Czech, 2nd, 3rd etc. levels won´t be czechoslovak, instead every country will have it´s own 2nd league. From the 18 teams in joint league, 2 will be relegated and they will be replaced by first teams from both Slovak and Czech 2nd division. As for the qualification spots, it´s not decided yet but most probably it will be merged as well with both coefficients counted together and devided by two. That´s still beeing discussed with UEFA anyway. Proposed date for beginning of project is 2012/13 season and all 4 parties (Slovak FA, Czech FA, Union of league clubs - the rulling organization of Slovak 1st and 2nd league and UEFA) seems to share common goal. And at least but not last it shouldn´t be forgotten taht František Laurinec, current president of Slovak FA, is also chairman of UEFA Marketing Advisory Committee, member of Executive comittee and deputy chairman of HatTrick Committee therefore he has a lot of connections in UEFA which are now beeing used.

no clue about European spots yet

lower tiers should remain same, just undergo re-organisation. Corgonliga & Gambrinusliga becomes 2nd tier, 3rd tier = nowadays 2nd tier (2x in Czech rep. 2x in Slovakia)

uh, they discuss this with ex-YU leagues as well

I am against this, though my opinion means little as I'm neither Slovak or Czech. I think a joint league is a bad idea, only thing I would support is maybe a spring-time cup, as by then most of the clubs are out of Europe, but there are arguements against this too
