UEFA Cup, 1st Round: Artmedia vs. Panathinaikos

The European journey continues, this time against a difficult team.

Could have done worse, though, so I am optimistic that maybe they'll sneak by.

50th minute quick stats

shots 3:12
ball possession 46-54 %
fouls committed 10:6
scoresheet 1:0

Panathinaikos is clearly better team tonite, Petrzalka lucky as usually.

Man, I was hoping that Petrzalka could hold on for 1-0. No Czech team in the last 10 yrs could beat Panathinaikos. It's like a curse. Sparta, Slavia, Liberec and last year Mlada Boleslav all lost to them, starting with Slavia in CL 3rd round in 2001

Well, Pana's penalty was an inhumanly bad call, and Artmedia should have had a penalty of their own.

But, it is only natural, of course. More successful teams get more respect from referees.

Against a much stronger team, Artmedia did fairly well.

No offence mate.
But Panathinaikosí penalty was 100% real and there wasnít any penalty denied for Artmedia.

to be generous, penalty was laughable. Dosoudil´s defending was horrible and Salpigidis dived but noone can´t blame him I´d do the same if defender wants to hit me so badly in penalty area

Congrats, Panathinaikos was better team

It looked quite obvious to me, but whatever.

You deserved the victory even without that bad call.
